The 5 unforgettable kills in Terrifier 3, ranked from gnarly to straight-up gruesome

As a longtime horror enthusiast who’s seen my fair share of slasher films, I can confidently say that Terrifier 3 has earned its place among the genre greats. The movie’s recent release on VOD gives us a chance to revisit the terror at home, though I wouldn’t recommend it for family gatherings, especially during Thanksgiving.

If you missed catching Terrifier 3 in cinemas or found it too frightening to watch it there, now’s your opportunity to view it from the comfort of your home. This chilling slasher movie, which was a box office hit and set the record for the highest-grossing unrated film ever, can now be rented on VOD. While we’re big fans of this movie, we advise you to exercise caution if you decide to watch it, especially during family gatherings like Thanksgiving.

To pay tribute to the movie’s release on Video On Demand, let’s reminisce about the top five most gruesome deaths and rate them. **Warning: Major spoilers for Terrifier 3 lie ahead.**

5. Mia

In a span of five years following the events of “Terrifier 2”, the Shaw siblings, Sienna and Jonathan, grapple with their past traumas in distinct manners. Sienna resides at a mental health facility, while Jonathan pursues higher education and strives for a normal lifestyle. In college, he shares a dorm with a fellow student named Cole, whose girlfriend Mia exhibits an unhealthy fascination with true crime. Eager to engage with the siblings about their experiences, Mia persistently expresses admiration towards them. However, her curiosity is tragically cut short when Art takes her life, leaving everyone in disbelief.

In the grisly shower scene of “Terrifier 3”, it’s revealed that Mia meets her end. This scene takes place in the dorm showers where Art unexpectedly enters, finding Mia and Cole already showering together. Instead of showing shock or surprise, Art pulls out a chainsaw and launches an attack. Tragically, he succeeds in severing Mia’s arms and lower body with the weapon. In a grimly humorous twist, after Mia succumbs to her injuries, Art places his glasses onto her lifeless face, echoing a previous scene.

4. Dennis, the construction worker

Between Terrifier 2 and 3, I, as Art the clown, found myself in a long slumber alongside my accomplice Victoria, hidden away in an abandoned house that was set to be demolished. Two unsuspecting construction workers stumbled upon our eerie and odorous lair, only to meet their grisly ends at the hands of us murderous villains. Among the chilling deaths, one stood out as particularly gruesome: I, Art, used a simple boxcutter to inflict pain on an unlucky soul named Dennis. With a cruel twist, I secured him to the floor before tearing into his scalp, effectively peeling his face off.

The most twisted part about this scene isn’t even the actual kill, however. It’s the fact that Victoria watches and masturbates with a shard of glass, feeling aroused by Art’s act of violence. Yikes.

3. The opening scene’s mom

Over the winter holiday season, Terrifier 3 emerges as a chilling new addition to Christmas horror tales. The film sets the stage immediately with a striking opening sequence where Art, disguised as Santa Claus, intrudes upon a household. In the dead of night, he ruthlessly slaughters most of the family members; the mother’s violent demise being especially gruesome and memorable. A pulse-pounding chase ensues, culminating in Art stabbing the mother, severing her arm, and ultimately splitting her head with an axe. What a gripping start to a film!

2. Jess

In Terrifier 3, several deaths left a heavy impact on viewers, including some that were not shown directly. However, one particularly heart-wrenching and gruesome death that we witness is that of Sienna and Jonathan’s aunt Jess. Despite losing their parents, the siblings had few allies to rely on besides each other. Their aunt Jess, uncle Greg, and cousin Gabbie provided essential support during this tough time. Regrettably, this made them prime targets for Art and Victoria, who launched a brutal attack on their home in the climax.

In my gaming world, Art and Victoria bind me and Sienna to chairs, a chilling turn of events. Before I could even process it, they subjected me to an agonizing ordeal involving rats. Yes, you read that right – rats! They shoved a plastic tube into my mouth and made them scurry down my throat. It’s hard to find words for how disgusting that was. To add insult to injury, they slit my throat. A grim and harrowing experience indeed.

1. Cole

As a gamer, I’ve got to say that the grisliest death scene in Terrifier 3 might not be the most heart-wrenching, but it sure is stomach-churning. Following Art’s brutal murder of Mia in the shower, he sets his sights on Cole. The clown manages to cripple him by sawing off a leg with his chainsaw, forcing Cole to scramble across the floor. In a gruesome twist, Art then hacks into Cole’s backside, effectively dissecting him—and his male anatomy—right down the middle.

In this rendition, the event isn’t as emotionally impactful as the intense violence shown during the climax because we haven’t had much time to bond with Cole, but there’s no disputing that it’s extremely graphic and gruesome, taking the top spot on our list.

Despite facing criticism for weak plots and emotions in previous films, the third installment of “Terrifier” significantly enhances these aspects, making it a fantastic addition to the series. Now that it’s accessible for rental at home, we’re looking forward to watching it again (and possibly more times).

Fans of traditional formats can expect the release of “Terrifier 3” on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD Steelbook editions on December 17th.
