The 2025 Golden Globes nominations are out. Here's the full list

As a seasoned connoisseur of performances in various mediums, I must say that this year’s nominations have truly outdone themselves. The talent, the passion, and the sheer diversity of these artists are nothing short of astounding.

As a devoted cinephile, I must say that the recent nominations for the upcoming 82nd Golden Globes have undeniably showcased an intriguing blend of global cinema. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association might not be as widely recognized by its new name, but their choices this year have certainly highlighted the international flair of filmmaking.

In the film category, “Emilia Pérez,” a Mexican musical directed by a French individual, and “The Brutalist,” a story focusing on a Hungarian immigrant architect in the U.S., both received significant recognition, garnering 10 and 7 nominations each.

In the musical/comedy category, I was nominated alongside “Emilia Pérez,” along with the films “Anora,” “Challengers,” “A Real Pain,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.” For the drama picture category, my fellow nominees included “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Nickel Boys,” and “September 5,” joining “The Brutalist” as contenders.

In the television category, “The Bear” took the lead with a total of five nominations, closely trailed by “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shogun,” each receiving four nods.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards represent the second occurrence of this event since it changed ownership in 2023. Following a brief period of controversy in 2021 when an investigation by The Times uncovered issues with diversity within its membership and questioned its ethical and financial practices, the original organizers were disbanded and transformed into a profit-making entity.

Mindy Kaling, co-creator of “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” and Morris Chestnut, known for his role in “Watson,” announced the nominations for the 27 film and television categories at a recent event. The awards will be broadcast live on CBS on January 5th at 5 p.m. You can find the full list of nominees below.
