The 1% Club is plunged into chaos as empty-handed contestant BLAMES host Lee Mack for missing out on £20,000 cash prize (before he compares her to Minnie Driver!)
As a devoted fan of The 1% Club, I was absolutely thrilled to see the show make its comeback on ITV last Saturday. And what a show it was! I couldn’t believe my eyes when contestant Sarah humorously blamed our beloved host, Lee Mack, for her loss. I mean, who could blame her? When you’re in the presence of comedy genius like Lee, it’s easy to get star-struck and make mistakes.
On Saturday evening, the ITV broadcast brought back The 1% Club, during which contestant Sarah Hannon playfully scolded host Lee Mack upon losing.
“The popular television program, hosted by comedian Lee, featured 100 contestants vying for a potential prize of £100,000 through answering questions that only a tiny fraction (1%) of the population could correctly answer.”
In one recurring instance, contestant Sarah regretfully didn’t make it to the final round. She attributed her failure to the actions of Lee.
One possible paraphrase for “Lee asked which item did not belong to the others?” from a group of five things – a cat, bat, coat, hat, and a doormat.
Nine contestants were unable to give the correct answer when it was time. Lee then shared the solution, explaining, “Cat, bat, and mat have matching rhythms. However, coat does not.”

When questioned about her mistake, Sarah quipped, “I’ll put the blame on you, as I’m quite awestruck.”
Lee replied: ‘You look like Minnie Driver’, which led to a humorous exchange between the pair.
Sarah questioned: “Who is Minnie Driver?” And Lee quipped: “I’m not criticizing you. You don’t resemble someone who operates a Mini car; rather, you seem like the type of lady who drives a luxurious and elegant one.”
I can’t help but exclaim, “Oh my goodness, it’s truly uncanny! You remind me so much of the remarkable Minnie Driver. It’s almost as if I’m looking at her!”
Sarah replied: ‘I’m too young for that.’
Before Lee clarified: ‘No, Minnie Driver when she was younger.’
Sarah appeared confused as Lee quipped: ‘Sorry not Minnie Driver, Richard Hammond.’
Following the round, presenter Lee revealed those advancing now stood to win £20,000.
He mentioned that the £1,000 collected from those who answered incorrectly has been added to the prize fund. Let’s check the new amount.
Turning to the display, Lee disclosed: ‘That’s £20,000.’
