Catelynn Lowell from Teen Mom explicitly stated that her husband, Tyler Baltierra, had never requested her to give their first-born child up for adoption.
The woman originally from Port Huron, Michigan, who is now 33 years old, dismissed rumors that Baltierra, also 33, had been forceful in suggesting they give up their daughter Carly for adoption when she was born in 2009 while they were both on the MTV show ’16 And Pregnant’.
In the most recent installment of their podcast titled “Cate & Ty: Break It Down” (aired on Wednesday), the celebrities from MTV took up the topic for discussion.
Lowell said she was shocked people thought she would prioritize anything other than being a mom.
Lowell expressed astonishment, saying, “It’s hard for me to comprehend this idea – the belief that I would prioritize a man over my child. Yet, it seems people sometimes underestimate the depth of our feelings and assume we lack emotions, sadness, sorrow, or desires.
Baltierra said the notion he ‘would give [Lowell] some ultimatum’ was ‘insane’ to suggest.
Lowell commented, “That’s truly unfortunate – and yet, I’ve stayed with you through all these years despite having others.
If anyone truly believes I am the kind of person I’m teaching my daughters to avoid, it’s revolting to me. My girls are well aware that I don’t behave like that.
Lowell expressed that she wouldn’t maintain a relationship if it made her daughters believe that such a situation is typical or healthy.
Apart from being residents of Mount Clemens, Michigan, Lowell and his hometown counterpart are proud parents to daughters Nova (aged 10), Vaeda (5 years old), and the youngest, Rya (3 years old).
Lowell said she’s done caring about the rumor mill, and remains guided by her own truths.
Lowell stated, “Eventually, I can express the truth, and whether you accept it or not is up to you. I have peace at night because I am confident in my moral compass and values. The people I care for are who truly matter to me.
On the podcast, Lowell expressed her frustration by saying, “I’m tired of discussing it repeatedly” and added that this would be her “final conversation about it.
She added: ‘I’m not a weak woman – Tyler wanted this baby just as much as I did.’
In a recent Instagram Stories post, Lowell further clarified her stance, emphasizing that she was disclosing “unfiltered, impartial truth” about the matter at hand.
She stated, ‘Regardless of whether some individuals may react defensively or emotionally to it, the truth in question remains valid.’
Facts aren’t based on personal feelings; they’re objective truths. Unfortunately, many criticizing us about adoption may be doing so based on misinformation or incomplete understanding.
As a die-hard admirer, I feel compelled to say this: When discussing someone’s personal life, it’s essential to remember the possible harm or hurt that unfounded speculations could cause when shared openly.
If someone is genuinely interested in getting accurate information, they’ll be open to listening. However, if they prefer to uphold their personal perspective, reinforced by the algorithm, and not consider new facts, they may choose to disregard it.
