Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, two of the original stars of Sex and the City, admit they were disappointed with how And Just Like That… concluded, and are hoping the story isn’t over for good.
The popular show following Carrie Bradshaw’s life and love in New York City ended last summer with its final episode, ‘Party of One’. The ending proved controversial, as many viewers felt it was too sudden and that the show’s main characters – Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte – deserved a more extensive conclusion to their stories.
Kristin Davis, known for her role in Charlotte, recently met up with Mario Cantone, who played Anthony in both Sex and the City and And Just Like That…, to talk about the possibility of future storylines for their characters.

Appearing on Davis’ Are You a Charlotte? podcast, Cantone said he “just wanted one more season”.
Both Davis and Cantone expressed their disappointment with how the show ended. “I really hoped for another season,” Davis said, and Cantone agreed, stating firmly, “Regardless of what others believe, that episode wasn’t meant to be the final one ever – it was just the end of the season.”

Davis confessed she hasn’t watched the final episode yet, explaining she’s avoiding it because she doesn’t want to accept the show is over. She’s still hoping for a continuation of the series, believing the story isn’t finished.
“This is not based on anything real,” Davis clarified.
She believes they’ll be working on another project soon, though it probably won’t last a full season.
Currently, it’s unclear who owns the company, and that needs to be resolved.
Davis mentioned she’s met with Michael Patrick King, the showrunner of And Just Like That…, a few times, and he hasn’t suggested the show will be continued beyond its current run.
“He doesn’t say that. But I’m just, in my hopeful way, you know, going with that,” the star said.

Last August, King revealed that the show’s third season would be its final one. He also mentioned they were adding two more episodes to the season to properly conclude the story.
While finishing the third season of And Just Like That…, I realized it felt like a natural ending point for the show. After discussing it with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to wrap up the series this year with a two-part finale. We also extended the season from 10 to 12 episodes to allow for a more satisfying conclusion, as I shared in a recent statement.
We waited to share the news because we didn’t want the idea of it being ‘final’ to take away from people enjoying the season, he explained.
King expressed deep appreciation to the viewers who welcomed the show’s characters into their lives over the years. The main actors, Parker, David, and Cynthia Nixon, also shared their thanks and fond memories of the show.
While the original Sex and the City generally received positive reviews (averaging 70% on Rotten Tomatoes), critics weren’t as impressed with the storylines in And Just Like That…
Okay, so the new spin-off isn’t doing so hot. It’s only got a 52% rating on the platform, which is pretty low. Season 3 is even worse at 46%, making it the second-worst thing in the whole franchise! The only thing that scored lower was that Sex and the City 2 movie – ouch, only 16% for that one. It’s a bit of a disaster, honestly.
