Thanksgiving star Gina Gershon takes on next horror gig in the body horror The Designer
As a die-hard fan of horror films, I am beyond excited to see Gina Gershon return to the genre with her upcoming role in “The Designer”. With her impressive resume and knack for delivering chilling performances, she’s undoubtedly one of the best actresses in the business when it comes to horror.
As a gamer, I recently spotted Gina Gershon in the action-comedy flick “Borderlands”. Prior to that role, she graced our screens as the lead in the 2023 slasher hit “Thanksgiving“. To my delight, it seems she’s not quite finished with the horror genre yet, as she’ll soon appear in a new movie called “The Designer”.
The movie, titled “The Designer”, is being categorized as a body-horror style production. This upcoming horror flick hails from the creative mind of American director Em Johnson, who will not only pen the script but also take on directing duties. Johnson gained recognition for helming and writing the drama film “Balloon Animal”. The production houses responsible for bringing this chilling tale to life are Incandescent Entertainment, First Bloom Films, and Hemlock Circle Productions. Jiarui Guo, Warner Davis, and Katherine Waddell will produce the movie.
Previously, Waddell (the person you see in the image) and Johnson collaborated on a film titled “Balloon Animal“, where Waddell was the main actor. Additionally, Waddell had a part in the dark comedy “Dinner in America“. In their upcoming project “The Designer“, Waddell will be portraying Gerry, a woman yearning for an identity. To fulfill this longing, Gerry accepts a position at a multilevel marketing company named Kismetta. However, once she’s on board, she discovers herself immersed in a whirlwind of confusion, or as we might say, a “world of chaos.”
In addition to Gershon and Waddell, Ethan Slater (known for “Wicked”), Jesse James Keitel (famous for “Queer as Folk” and “Big Sky”), Michelle Hurd (recognized from “Anyone but You” and “Star Trek: Picard”), Annie Golden (acclaimed in “Orange Is the New Black”), Jessica Belkin (noted in “Last Straw” and “American Horror Story”), and Gwendoline Yeo (renowned for “Star Wars: The Bad Batch”) are also joining the cast. However, at this point, we’re unsure about who each of them will portray in the movie. As soon as that information becomes available, we’ll be sure to share it with you promptly.
