Petra’s career in FPS
Petra began playing first-person shooter (FPS) games at a young age and became a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) player in 2015. Over the years, she played on several teams, including Team Expert Female, Dynasty Gaming Female, Beşiktaş Esports, Team Originem, and XSET. While with Team Originem, she met mimi and Julia “juliano” Kiran, and together they would later achieve victory at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship.
She achieved significant success in CS: GO, winning several major tournaments including the Copenhagen Games in 2018, DreamHack Showdown Valencia in 2019, and both the Summer and Winter editions of DreamHack Showdown Europe in 2020.
Petra started her VALORANT career in 2021 with XSET Female, but quickly moved to G2 Gozen after just four months. This is where she found significant success. G2 Gozen became a leading team in their region, only losing a championship in 2022 to Guild X – the same team they had previously beaten to win the first two tournaments of the season. Despite this loss, they went on to win the inaugural VALORANT Game Changers Championship.
After this win, Petra, mimi, and jualiano made history as the first women to become World Champions in two separate games. Petra also achieved another first, becoming the first player from the Netherlands to win a Game Changers Championship.
In 2023, G2 Gozen won two national championships, and then added three more in 2024. However, they struggled to achieve the same success on the international stage, falling short of a second Game Changers Championship win and fueling speculation about a persistent pattern of finishing in third place.
Thank you, Petra!
2025 proved challenging for the entire team. G2 Gozen wasn’t playing up to their full ability, and a mid-season benching of Petra highlighted their struggles. However, after a two-month break, Petra returned for Stage 3 and led G2 to victory, restoring their dominance in the region.
The Game Changers Championship didn’t go as well as the team had hoped. For the first time since 2022, they didn’t finish in the top three. Following a challenging season, Petra announced her retirement and won’t be competing in 2026. She’s had an amazing career and a decade in FPS gaming that will always be remembered. Good game, well played, Petra!
