Here’s how TFT Set 16: Lore & Legends lives up to its namesake.
The next update for Teamfight Tactics (TFT), called Lore & Legends (Set 16), is coming on December 3rd. Riot Games has revealed details about the new champions and traits, which are all inspired by popular stories and legends!

TFT Set 16 combines traits and champions with lore
In Teamfight Tactics Set 16, the Bilgewater trait is a key strategy. Playing with Bilgewater champions earns you Silver Serpents every round, and you get even more for defeating opponents. You can use these Serpents to buy powerful upgrades, new champions, and items from the Black Market.
Graves is an unlockable Champion who becomes available when you purchase Twisted Fate. These two Champions are designed to work together: Twisted Fate identifies enemies, and Graves deals increased attack speed by hitting those marked targets. Additionally, Twisted Fate gets stronger – gaining more Ability Power – each time Graves defeats a marked enemy.
You can also use the Silver Serpents you earn to unlock Tahm Kench, a 5-cost champion from Bilgewater.

Demacian champions become tougher with increased armor and magic resistance. They also get stronger bonuses as their team takes damage. Popular choices for this team style include Garen, Vayne, Lux, and Xin Zhao.
Julien Camaraza, lead of Lore & Legends, says you can play Xin Zhao, and therefore Zaahen, using the Ionian region.
TFT Set 16 traits and champions: Ionia, Ixtal, and Shadow Isles
So, about Ionia in the new TFT Set 16, it’s not gonna have every Ionian champ, but they’re bringing back some of the big ones like Jhin and Sett, which is awesome! And get this – the set is all about lore and legends, so if you manage to 3-star Yasuo, you actually unlock his brother Yone! It’s pretty cool. Oh, and Yunara is also making her first appearance in this set, which I’m really excited about!

The Ixtal trait introduces optional side quests that reward players with helpful items when finished.
Camaraza said, “If you don’t succeed, you can try again later. But if you’re good and have some luck, you might unlock Brock, a powerful 7-cost champion from Ixtal. He’s not just a unit – he’s almost like a mobile Nexus Fountain!”

Okay, so when I’m playing in the Shadow Isles, I can grab Souls as Viego. And if I’m lucky enough to have both Viego and Yorick on my team, things get really cool! We can unlock Gwen pretty quickly with just 20 Souls, then Kalista at 75. If we really grind it out and get 150 Souls, we can even unlock Thresh – he’s a 5-cost champion, so he’s a big deal!
