TFT Set 16: Lore & Legends is all about Runeterra’s major moments throughout history!
Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is heading back to the world of Runeterra with its latest update, Lore & Legends! Set 16 was unveiled in a video during the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2025) in Chengdu this weekend. The announcement also generated excitement for the TFT Paris Open happening this December.
TFT Set 16 release date
Teamfight Tactics Set 16, called Lore & Legends, comes out on December 3rd for both PC and mobile devices. This release will happen with the 16.1 patch update.
According to Julien Camaraza, the lead designer for Teamfight Tactics Set 16, the new set, ‘Lore & Legends,’ is a tribute to the world of Runeterra and its important historical events. While TFT has featured Runeterra-themed sets before, Camaraza believes this one is special and will offer something for all players to enjoy.
Teamfight Tactics Set 16 will feature Pengu and his allies experiencing iconic events from the history of Runeterra.
TFT Lore & Legends features Mako
The Lore & Legends concert will include music by Mako, the composer behind the popular Arcane soundtrack. He’s also famous for creating the LoL Worlds 2017 anthem, “Legends Never Die,” and co-writing “Rise” for LoL Worlds 2018. More recently, he contributed to the 2023 anthem with NewJeans and the 2025 song, “Sacrifice,” featuring G.E.M.
Working with Riot Games is always a blast, and I really enjoyed getting back into the Runeterra universe with Teamfight Tactics. We were aiming for a huge, impactful track that would capture the feeling of those Little Legends experiencing all the big moments, and honestly, I think we nailed it!
The new cinematic for TFT Set 16, Lore & Legends, features music by Mako. Interestingly, the track includes remixes of popular TFT songs like Warriors, Still Here, and Bite Marks.
Major TFT Set 16 reveals at TFT Paris Open
Riot Games has announced more details about the upcoming Teamfight Tactics Set 16 will be shared during the Tactician’s Crown tournament for Set 15, which runs from November 14th to 16th. The highlight will be the TFT Paris Open, a major event with a $100,000 prize pool, over 768 players, and fun activities like an artist alley, meet-and-greets, and watch parties. It’s set to be the biggest TFT event of the year, second only to the League of Legends World Championship in 2025.
According to Teamfight Tactics game director Peter Whalen, the new ‘Lore & Legends’ set is the largest they’ve ever created. It brings together over 15 years of the Runeterra universe with a special gameplay feature and features many beloved champions. Whalen is excited for players to experience it and then celebrate Teamfight Tactics at the TFT Paris Open in December.
