TFT roadmap 2025: No more Hyper Roll, Pengu’s Party returns, and new Set Revival

Riot Games will retire Hyper Roll at the end of TFT Set 14. Here’s why.

On May 8th, Peter Whalen, the director of Teamfight Tactics (TFT), revealed updates concerning the rest of the game’s 2025 plan. Here’s the most recent overview of the TFT 2025 roadmap, featuring the deactivation of Hyper Roll, the anticipated return of Pengu’s Party, and additional elements.

Approximately 98% of the overall gameplay time on Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is spent outside Hyper Roll, as it does not meet our criteria for user interaction and enduring appeal.

TFT retires Hyper Roll

At the conclusion of the ongoing Cyber City set, Riot Games will be disabling the Hyper Roll feature. As explained by Whalen, despite its fast-moving nature, this mode demands a comprehensive grasp of TFT from players, which can be overwhelming for beginners. Originally designed to offer a simplified and brief introduction to TFT without necessitating mastery of economy, Hyper Roll unfortunately hasn’t achieved that objective. Consequently, Riot Games has decided to phase it out.

Moreover, Whalen mentioned that the Hyper Roll mode only occupies about 2% of the overall Time-Fighting-Game (TFT) gameplay time. Although its potential removal might displease certain enthusiasts, he remains grateful to all those who took the opportunity to experience it.

Looking back at the last 10 rounds of experimenting with game modes, we’re deeply grateful to everyone who dared to delve into TFT’s initial foray into a new game mode. This pioneering experience offered us valuable insights and the motivation to keep pushing boundaries as we’ve developed numerous other modes since Hyper Roll was introduced. He added that we will carry forward the objectives and lessons from Hyper Roll into future game modes.

TFT roadmap 2025

Regarding additional gameplay options, Whalen unveiled the revised 2025 plan for Teamfight Tactics (TFT). Emphasizing on the occasion of its six-year anniversary, he hinted at the reappearance of Pengu’s Party in the game. Additionally, he previewed some fresh Anniversary traits from stories like Inkborn Fables, Magic n’ Mayhem, and Into the Arcane. Furthermore, he teased a new TFT Set Revival, though he kept the details under wraps.

Players will have exciting new content for the remainder of 2025 with an anime-themed TFT Set 15, a revisit to Runeterra with TFT Set 16, and the upcoming TFT Paris Open.

This version maintains the original meaning while using more common phrasing and sentence structure.
