Teyana Taylor leaves ‘no grey area’ about Aaron Pierre: The two look to be coupled up
At the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday evening, singer Teyana Taylor seemed to publicly affirm her relationship with actor Aaron Pierre, who played Mufasa in “The Lion King,” by making it clear through their shared appearance.
On Instagram, the actor from “Coming 2 America” posted, “Black-and-white Oscar night, nothing in between,” which seems to clearly express their relationship with the British performer. The post included three pictures as well.

At the Academy Awards, take a look at how celebrities like Ariana Grande in stunning red attire and Timothée Chalamet in a vibrant yellow Givenchy suit made their grand entrances with elegance and pizzazz.
On Tuesday, neither Pierre (aged 30) nor Taylor (aged 34) promptly responded to The Times’ inquiries about their relationship being confirmed, however, they were spotted together in photos taken at the VF event.
In Taylor’s first striking monochrome image, the multi-talented individual (Taylor) is captured posing confidently with her hands on her hips, dressed in a deep black halter dress that plunges low. Standing beside her is Pierre, towering at 6 feet 3 inches, wearing a tuxedo and a white bow tie, his hands casually tucked into the pockets of his trousers.
In the following shot, they are glancing at Pierre’s watch, while the third one depicts them facing each other. The actor portraying “Genius: MLK/X” is seen with his jacket slung over an arm and exhibiting a hint of James Bond-like charm as he subtly brushes hips with the other character who flaunts her shiny stilettos suggestively, reminiscent of a scene from “A View to a Kill.

A fresh pair makes their entrance over a year since Taylor and ex-basketball player Iman Shumpert parted ways, eventually divorcing. Prior to their breakup, Taylor emerged victorious as Firefly on “The Masked Singer” in 2022, while Shumpert had claimed the “Dancing With the Stars” Mirror Ball trophy in 2021, making him the first NBA player to do so.

Actor Pierre, who played a role in “The Underground Railroad,” lent his voice to Mufasa in Barry Jenkins’ film prequel titled “Mufasa: The Lion King” that was released in December and received a Razzie nomination for the worst remake or sequel. (“Joker: Folie a Deux,” the musical sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, won this category.) Pierre is set to appear on the premiere episode of Season 4 of “The Morning Show” on AppleTV+, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
Simultaneously, Taylor has been included in Paul Thomas Anderson’s as-yet-unnamed “feature film,” which IMDb indicates is currently in post-production and scheduled to debut this year. Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro, and Alana Haim are among the other actors in the cast. The movie’s storyline is being kept secret, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
