Tetris Forever Gets Another Update With Super Tetris and New Tetris Time Warp Features
Today, Digital Eclipse has unveiled an enormous update for Tetris Forever, building upon the recent addition of Welltris introduced in the December patch, raising the count of games within the compilation to a whopping 21.
This recent update features two timeless editions of the renowned brick-style puzzle game, including the 1991 Spectrum Holobyte hit Super Tetris, and the 1988 v3.12 version of Tetris, which was the last one developed within the Soviet Union at the Academy of Sciences. This latter version was adapted from Alexey Pajitnov’s original Pascal code by Vadim Gerasimov.
The goal is to maintain the essence of the information while making it easier for readers to understand and follow the content.
The updated version of “Tetris Time Warp” now offers additional gameplay, allowing players to progress solo beyond Level 15, up to an exciting new Level 30. At Level 20, the golden brick in the Time Warp Tetrimino piece is removed, meaning you can no longer create Matrix-clearing cascades using it. Furthermore, at Level 28, the lockdown speed of Tetriminos significantly accelerates.
As a dedicated fan, I’d express it like this: “In the multiplayer mode of ‘Tetris Time Warp’, there’s a new feature called the ‘Time Warp Shield’. You earn this shield when you successfully clear a line that includes a Time Warp Tetrimino with the distinctive shield pattern. This protective barrier safeguards me from being forced into a Time Warp by my competitors, but it vanishes once used up.
1989 Mode within Tetris Time Warp has received updates, offering fixes and additional features such as disabling ‘Modern Gameplay’, enhancing historical authenticity. Moreover, players can opt for a grid of 18 rows instead of the standard 20 rows found in contemporary versions.
You might as well mark the 40th anniversary of Tetris by taking up the 40-line challenge in both Modern and 1989 modes. Your goal is to remove 40 lines as swiftly as you can. Plus, customization features for visuals, audio, and gameplay have been incorporated, allowing you to personalize Tetris Time Warp according to your preferences.
In the revamped version of Tetris based on Electronika 60, adjustments have been made to better align the gameplay dynamics with the original version’s behavior, along with general enhancements and bug fixes. Furthermore, this updated version now supports Korean and Traditional Chinese languages as well.
