Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Launch Server Woes Continue Days After Gold Edition Early Access
As a long-time fan of racing games, I’ve seen my fair share of rocky launches, but Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has taken the cake. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this game for quite some time, and to be stuck on a ‘connecting to server’ screen is beyond frustrating.
Ever since the early access launch of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for Gold Edition owners, I’ve been experiencing some server issues that have left the developer KT Racing scrambling to rectify the situation. As one of the early adopters who spent around $90/$80 on the Gold Edition, it’s frustrating to say the least.
According to KT Racing, “the quality of most services has noticeably enhanced since the initial release of Early Unlock.” However, upon our recent login, we’ve encountered a ‘connecting to server’ screen that won’t seem to load, along with a save data error. Interestingly, KT Racing admits that there are ongoing issues such as post-race glitches and troubles during the initial game setup process, which includes loading up the game for the first time and completing the introductory races.
According to KT Racing’s recent statement, it appears that certain players are still encountering occasional connection or login problems. Rest assured, they are determined to address these issues in the upcoming hours and days. At present, their primary focus is on the race servers, which seem to be causing the majority of the problems (such as lobby errors).
Four days have passed since I unlocked Solar Crown early, but some errors remain unresolved. However, I’m reassured that KT is on top of it and planning to fix these issues in an upcoming patch. I can feel their understanding of the frustration this has caused, especially for those who purchased the Gold Edition for early access.
As an enthusiastic early adopter of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, I must share that KT Racing has promised “in-game rewards” for those who purchased early access, but specifics are still under wraps. Regrettably, due to server problems, my progress in the game has been halted at the initial races, which has temporarily delayed our review process. Hopefully, these technical glitches will be resolved soon and we can dive deeper into the game’s exciting features.
The much-anticipated game titled “Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown” is set to be available for everyone on the 12th of September. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see how the servers handle it! Additionally, KT Racing has outlined their plans for post-launch content, such as incorporating Ibiza into the game for Season 2.
