Phoebe Kay, the daughter of Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, shared a touching video showing her mother, Tess, and Claudia Winkleman on the dance floor for the last time as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing.
Before the show began, Phoebe shared a touching video on TikTok. It showed Tess and Claudia leaving the stage to a huge round of applause from the audience.
Phoebe created a moving edit by slowing down the video and pairing it with Harry Styles’ song, ‘Sign of the Times,’ which carries a powerful message.
When the hosts walked on stage and greeted the audience, the song ‘Welcome to the final show, hope you’re wearing your best clothes’ began to play, really highlighting how important this moment was for those who had been watching the show for years.
As Tess and her companion walked forward, she quickly looked over the crowd until she found her daughter. Seeing her, Tess’s face lit up with a big smile and she waved hello.
Claudia, who has worked with her co-host for over ten years, waved to the audience as excitement grew in the studio before the final show.

Okay, so I was just scrolling through social media and saw the sweetest thing! A fan named Phoebe was at the live ‘Strictly’ show with her dad and sister, and she shared a video with the caption, ‘Crying in the audience at their final ‘Strictly’ live show – I’m going to miss it all! So proud of you, Mum!’ It’s just so heartwarming to see that kind of family support and how much the show means to people. Definitely a tearjerker!
Phoebe’s video quickly became popular, with many viewers complimenting how well it captured the heartfelt moment as Tess and Claudia got ready for their last live show together.
I’m really going to miss watching Tess and Claudia on TV every Saturday. I wish them both the very best in whatever they do next.
‘sad time, no one can replace them …’; ‘It’s not going to be the same without Tess & Claud ☹️’
‘Never cried so much over strictly! It’s never going to be the same’; ‘The best duo ❤’
‘Hope they understand everyone loved them and didn’t want them to go x’;
‘going to miss Tess and Claudia heaps. It won’t ever be the same. they were the best xxxxxxx’;
‘Going to miss them, they are strictly’

‘Absolute pros, the pair of them ☺️’
‘aww your mum is an icon watched her on strictly since I was 7 I’m now 28 ❤️she will be missed! xx’
Before her final performance, Tess revealed she received a ton of thoughtful gifts from her daughters.
She shared a video on her Instagram Stories, excitedly posting, ‘I woke up to a sweet surprise from my friends on the day of my finals!’
In the video, Tess highlighted a careful arrangement of treats set out by her daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
The gift included various chocolate bars, lots of old photos from her time on Strictly Come Dancing, and a Terry’s Chocolate Orange with a note excitedly saying, ‘Mum, they have the ones with popping candy!’
The former model shares her two daughters with husband Vernon Kay, whom she married in 2003.
Back in October, Tess and Claudia announced their exits in a joint video shared to Instagram.

Okay, so they announced it, and honestly, my heart broke a little. They said it was time to ‘pass the baton,’ which is just… poetic, right? But it means they’re leaving! They were so thankful for being on the show, calling it ‘amazing,’ and while I’m happy they had a good time, I’m just devastated! It feels like the end of an era, and I don’t know how I’ll cope without them on my screen. Seriously, this show won’t be the same!
Tess has hosted the show for an incredible 21 years and 216 days, and recently earned a Guinness World Record for being the longest-running host of the same dance competition.
She’s been with the show since it began in 2004, originally presenting it with the late Bruce Forsyth.
Sir Bruce, who passed away in 2017, worked with her until he retired in 2013, after which Claudia continued in his role.
Claudia and her partner announced their decision to leave their position in an Instagram post, starting with a message that they wanted to address recent rumors directly: ‘There’s been talk, and we want you to hear it from us first.’
Tess announced that after 21 fantastic years on Strictly, they’ve decided it’s time to leave and let someone new take over.
Claudia chuckled, holding up a very glittery baton. Then, turning to her friend and fellow actor, she said, ‘You’ve been with me from the start.’
Tess responded, recalling her time with the wonderful Bruce Forsyth, which was over twenty years ago, but emphasizing that she’s spent much more time working with the person she was currently addressing.
It’s been a significant part of our lives, starting when our children were very young, and now that they’re grown, we truly appreciate every moment we’ve shared.
Honestly, being a fan, it was so lovely to hear Claudia say how grateful they were! She really emphasized how amazing the whole ‘Strictly’ experience was, and made it clear that it’s the incredible team behind the scenes who truly make the show what it is. It’s a testament to everyone involved, and she just wanted to thank them all for everything.
