Tess Daly shares heartfelt message after receiving her MBE as she thanks some of the biggest stars in showbusiness for her success
Tess Daly expressed a touching sentiment after being awarded her MBE, acknowledging some of the major figures in entertainment for contributing to her achievements.
In recognition of her contributions to broadcasting, the 56-year-old television host received an honor, which was included in the list celebrating birthdays under King Charles. This accolade was also bestowed upon fellow popular TV personality, Claudia Winkleman.
The Monarch and the Royal Consort regularly enjoy watching Strictly Come Dancing, a show they themselves grace as presenters.
For over a decade now, this duo has been an integral part of the Strictly Come Dancing team since its debut in 2004. Tess is the host of the main show alongside Sir Bruce Forsyth, and Claudia, who’s 53, runs the BBC2 supplementary program It Takes Two.
Following her remarkable performance, Claudia climbed up the ranks at the BBC and eventually took over as co-host for the Sunday results show together with Tess. In 2014, after Sir Bruce decided to scale back his commitments, she was appointed as the primary co-host.

Now that she’s been recognized for her hard work, Tess posted an album of photos featuring some well-known figures with whom she has collaborated.
Next to the album she wrote, she expressed: “Still can’t believe it… I feel incredibly humbled and deeply honored to receive an MBE for my contributions to Broadcasting, which was included in King Charles’ birthday honors list.
If given the opportunity, I’d like to dedicate this to everyone I’ve worked with joyfully during the last 26 years.
It’s truly an honor to collaborate with such broadcasting greats, knights like Sir Trevor Macdonald and Sir Terry Wogan, as well as the Strictly Come Dancing viewers who have filled our last 20 years with joy. Thank you to each and every one of you for being a part of this incredible journey; it’s truly meaningful to know you’re along for the ride. ✨
Starting from 2004, when it all began with the esteemed Sir Bruce Forsythe, up until now – a span of 21 years. A massive congratulations to my amazing friend @claudiawinkle for receiving her award as well! Who would have imagined that we’d be celebrating this milestone together, 20 years after our first encounter?
‘Thank you so much for your lovely messages. Not sure I’ll ever be able to take this in! Xx’
Previous year, the Queen expressed her admiration by stating she was “among Strictly Come Dancing’s most passionate supporters,” and addressed Strictly professional dancer Johannes Radebe saying, “We all enjoy watching it.
Tess Daly’s spouse, the radio host Vernon Kay, has mentioned before about the genuine bond that has developed between his wife and the Queen. In fact, the Queen herself has expressed interest in learning more about their private interactions.

Vernon, who is 51 years old, commented: “Currently, Camilla and Tess share a genuine friendship. They may not exchange texts directly, but they do so indirectly via their shared circle of friends and mutual acquaintances.
Whenever they meet, the Queen often enquires, “Of all, who do you prefer most?” She’s intrigued by the behind-the-scenes chatter among them.
It’s surprising to imagine the Monarch and Monarch Consort lounging on a couch, sipping tea, as your spouse hosts Strictly Come Dancing.
Tess, Claudia, as well as Daly and Winkleman all actively participate in charitable endeavors. Notably, Daly serves as a proud supporter of the King’s Trust and patron for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Similarly, Winkleman holds the position of patron for Child Bereavement UK and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
