Tess Daly receives surprise gifts from her daughters and emotional farewell message from Strictly Come Dancing crew ahead of her last ever show

Tess Daly received lots of gifts from her daughters and a heartfelt goodbye message from the Strictly Come Dancing team before hosting her final show.

The popular TV host, age 56, will present her last show this Saturday with Claudia Winkleman.

She shared a video on her Instagram Stories, excitedly posting that her friends had given her a sweet surprise on the day of her final exams!

In the video, Tess highlighted a careful arrangement of treats set out by her daughters, 21-year-old Phoebe and 16-year-old Amber.

The gift included various chocolate bars, lots of old photos from her time on Strictly Come Dancing, and a Terry’s Chocolate Orange with a note excitedly pointing out they now made a version with popping candy!

The former model shares her two daughters with husband Vernon Kay, whom she married in 2003.

Tess posted a photo of a heartfelt message the Strictly crew had written on her mirror, saying, ‘Tess, thank you for everything!’

‘We will miss you dearly. Love, All the team Strictly x.’

Emotionally, she commented: ‘Grateful for the best team on the last day it’s the FINAL!’

On Friday, the beloved BBC personality finished her final rehearsals for Strictly and shared a heartfelt message thanking the show’s dedicated crew.

Tess revealed earlier in the show that she’s leaving after hosting for 21 years, and will be departing alongside her co-star Claudia.

She’s been hosting the show since it began in 2004, when she first appeared with the late Bruce Forsyth.

Sir Bruce, who passed away in 2017, worked with her until he retired in 2013, and then Claudia continued in his place.

Before Saturday’s final Strictly Come Dancing show – and her last performance ever – Tess Daly shared a touching tribute on Instagram to the crew, revealing a kind gesture they made for her.

Tess posted a photo from the set with the cast and crew, marking her final day of rehearsals. She shared how grateful she was, saying she’ll always consider the ‘Strictly’ team her family.

Tess shared that when she got to the studio, her dressing room had already been decorated in preparation for the finale.

She was all smiles as she settled in, surrounded by photos from throughout the years. A banner above them read, ‘Thank you for the memories’.

Brightly coloured sweets were arranged on the coffee table, which was sprinkled with silver and gold confetti.
