In the realm of musical weeks, Chris (age 47) and talented dancer Dianne Buswell (age 35) left spectators astounded with their captivating Quickstep dance routine, set to the melody of “You’re The Top” from Anything Goes.
Following their performance that netted them a score of 32, Chris and Dianne strolled towards Tess, who was 55 years old, and it was audible to the crowd as the presenter inquired of Chris, “Do you notice her happiness with you?
Fans were left confused, pointing out that Chris is blind due to retinitis pigmentosa.

In my twenties and thirties, a genetically inherited condition called retinitis pigmentosa gradually took away my sight. This journey has been a part of my life story as a comedian.
During an interview with The Big Issue, he explained how he had to face the change. He said: ‘when you’re losing your sight gradually, there’s never a clear moment when you are forced to deal with it.
I prefer not to have any connection with matters related to it. For instance, instead of using a cane, I’d rather act as if I can see without one.
‘But you get into more trouble pretending there’s nothing wrong.’
In the quarter finals, Chris and his dance partner Dianne donned sailor-themed costumes while their supporting dancers leaped and bounded about them, adding energy to their dominance of the stage.
Following their act, they conversed with Claudia Winkleman, aged 52, behind the scenes, and Dianne appeared on the verge of tears while discussing the significant growth Chris has displayed during the course of the show up to this point.
Claudia asked Chris: ‘How did you find it? And did you welcome the extra dancers?’
He responded with: ‘It feels good to dance. It’s joyful, you know? That was really fun. It’s been a good week doing it all.’
He added: ‘Having the extra dancers, it’s… I can’t see them around me, but it’s the idea of what it is around me. Especially because it feels like you’re bringing a proper show.’
Turning to his dance partner, Claudia asked: ‘Dianne, you say he blew your mind this week?’
She started by saying, “He indeed performed that action. You’ve just witnessed it. I am incredibly thankful for the helpful critique the judge provided -” but Chris interjected with a humorous response, “Oh, I’m not grateful at all!
Dianne appeared quite moved as she went on to extol the virtues of the star, remarking: “Yet it’s important to remember that for about two decades, Chris has found solace right here (indicating the floor).
It touches my heart deeply when he rises, as this symbolizes a significant hurdle we’ve both managed to conquer. You truly excel!
