Tess Daly has revealed exactly what she eats in a day to keep maintain her incredible figure.
This week, the 56-year-old host of Strictly Come Dancing shared a look at her daily routine in a new video created with vitamin company Vitabiotics.
The actress, who has appeared in Wellwoman supplement advertisements for many years, shared what she typically eats in a day, describing her three meals. She did confess to sometimes indulging in a treat, though.
In the video, she explained that she always eats breakfast, typically Greek yogurt with berries, seeds like flax and pumpkin seeds for extra fiber, and sometimes sliced banana.
For lunch, I usually try to eat something with protein, like a tuna salad wrap and a side salad. I need a good, filling lunch to keep my energy up throughout the day.
Oh, dinner… it’s honestly the best part of my day! I love cooking, and I really try to make something special. I’ve been perfecting this teriyaki tuna recipe, but sometimes I go for roasted salmon – I add chili, coriander, and lime, it’s amazing! And always, always sweet potatoes and tons of veggies. It just has to be perfect.

I love having snacks, especially something sweet! I just can’t resist a little chocolate each day. It’s a small indulgence, and everyone deserves a little enjoyment in life.
I enjoy eating healthy, wholesome foods, but I also like to indulge in treats now and then. I believe in enjoying life, and for me, that includes chocolate!
Tess frequently posts photos of herself on social media to showcase her swimwear brand, Naia Beach, and highlight her physique.
The host of Strictly Come Dancing revealed in July that she credits a unique exercise routine, rather than dieting, for maintaining her youthful appearance.
Tess recently shared with The Mirror that she can still wear the same size jeans she wore when she was in her twenties.
She shared with the publication that she’s still able to fit into the jeans she wore in her twenties, but clarified this isn’t due to dieting, rather consistent healthy habits.
The model has often shared her fitness secrets with fans, revealing how she stays in shape. She enjoys watching Netflix while on the treadmill, does morning jump rope routines, and even bounces on a trampoline in her garden.
Tess attributes her physical fitness and good mental health to a daily yoga practice, and she also enjoys swimming.

In a 2021 interview with The Daily Mail, she shared that she starts each day with a 20-minute online yoga class, describing it as a small way to practice self-care.
I’ve found yoga to be incredibly beneficial. It helps me stay flexible, feel younger, and manage aches and pains – and there are tons of free classes available on YouTube!
I’ve been consistently working on my fitness for some time now, usually with a couple of workouts each week. I especially enjoy online training sessions with a trainer – they’re fantastic for building both physical and mental strength. And yoga is incredible for improving flexibility and bringing you fully into the present moment, which helps to eliminate anxiety and worry.
Tess doesn’t limit herself to just yoga; she also shared a clever trick for enjoying Netflix without feeling bad about it.
In a 2021 interview with Women’s Health UK, she shared how she combines exercise with entertainment: she can watch Netflix while running a 5k on her treadmill.
‘I would never sit down and watch TV in the day but, on the treadmill, I can justify it.’
Tess enjoys running and also loves to swim, bounce on a trampoline, and skip rope. She describes skipping as a particularly happy activity that brings back childhood memories.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always looking for ways to boost well-being, and I’m a big fan of movement! I personally love swimming, and I also enjoy fun activities like skipping and using a trampoline. Actually, we have a small one in our garden, and it’s fantastic for getting the lymphatic system going and improving your circulation. It’s a simple way to feel great!

I often start my day with five minutes of skipping – alternating one minute of jumping with one minute of rest. It’s a fantastic way to wake up and feel energized! If you’re feeling slow in the mornings, it’s much more effective than coffee, in my opinion. Plus, it’s affordable – you can get a skipping rope from Amazon for just a few pounds and have it delivered the next day.
Skipping is a great workout you can do rain or shine. It’s fantastic for your heart health, energizes you, and helps you stay in shape. Plus, it’s really fun and always brings a smile to my face!
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and simple way to get active. It’s a great way to reconnect with that childlike joy of movement, and it gently gets your body moving again. It feels fantastic – it gets everything working together, releases endorphins, and doesn’t take much time at all.
Tess has spoken about the importance of a healthy diet, explaining to the Daily Mail in 2021 that she views food as fuel. She believes we can use it to our advantage or indulge in it too much, and admits she isn’t perfect. She loves chocolate, enjoys a sweet treat with her afternoon tea, and doesn’t try to pretend otherwise.
I really enjoy cooking healthy meals for my family – lots of vegetables, good protein, and foods that are good for their gut health. We do have a special treat drawer, especially when the kids are home-schooling. After a full day of online learning, they’ve earned a little something sweet!

‘But treats aside, we eat healthily as a family and I enjoy creating those healthy meals.’
Tess shares daughters Phoebe, 20, and Amber, 16, with Radio 2 DJ husband Vernon Kay, 51.
This summer she said she believes she’s cracked the formula to both feeling and looking great.
She plans to do planks daily at home to strengthen her core, which she feels is especially important now that she’s getting older. Being tall and often running around in heels, she also wants to provide extra support for her back.
The star added that although she’s now in her 50s, she feels as energetic as she did in her 20s.
