Terry Moran fired from ABC News over social media posts on Trump and Stephen Miller
longtime reporter Terry Moran from ABC News has decided to part ways with the network, after receiving a suspension due to some controversial comments he made on social media, which were highly critical of the Trump Administration.
65-year-old Moran faced suspension on Sunday, following comments about President Trump and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, which labeled them as notorious haters. Furthermore, he referred to Miller as abhorrent.
Moran, a veteran journalist from ABC News’ news division who spoke with Trump in the Oval Office back in April, is not considered a commentator. A representative for ABC News explained that his actions went against their editorial standards, resulting in his contract not being renewed. He had been working with the network since 1997.
In a recent statement, it was announced that Terry Moran’s contract with us will not be renewed due to a breach of ABC News policies as evident in his latest post. Our dedication to upholding the utmost standards of impartiality, fairness, and professionalism remains unwavering, and we continue to strive for delivering accurate and reliable journalism.
Moran’s dismissal from the network indicates that news organizations are worried about journalists provoking Trump, who has demonstrated a readiness to retaliate against his media critics. Moran is the initial prominent journalist to be terminated for openly criticizing the president and his advisors.
In a post since removed, Moran expressed that Miller is an individual who possesses a remarkable ability to harbor hatred. He is a premier hater…Simply observing him reveals this, as it’s evident that his hatred sustains him. He feeds on his hatred.

The alterations in anchors are causing a significant disturbance to one of the remaining consistent behaviors associated with traditional television watching. Notably, two out of the three prime-time news broadcasts on the networks are experiencing substantial changes.
Additionally, other media outlets like PBS and NPR are also facing criticism from the White House. The President has expressed a desire to cut off their federal funding, labeling their content as “biased, left-leaning propaganda.
Trump is taking legal action against CBS News due to a distorted editing of an interview on “60 Minutes” in October, which he believes was manipulated to bolster his 2024 election rival, Vice President Kamala Harris at that time. The lawsuit, complicating Paramount Global’s plan to merge with Skydance Media, has been referred to a mediator for resolution.
In a settlement worth $16 million, ABC News resolved a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump regarding inaccurate statements made by “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos, who on air falsely claimed that the president was liable for rape, when it was actually sexual abuse. Robert Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has recommended that ABC’s program “The View” discuss Trump less frequently, as he is often a central topic in their daily discussion segments.
Previously with CNN, journalist Jim Acosta, known for his confrontations with President Trump in White House briefings during the initial term, opted to depart instead of accepting a late-night time slot that would have diminished his visibility significantly. Since then, Acosta has established his own program on Substack.
