Directors Danny and Michael Philippou, who previously brought us “Talk To Me”, are back with a new project titled “Bring Her Back“, a chilling, supernatural horror film featuring the talented Sally Hawkins.
The Australian filmmaking team is preparing to delve into the world of the deceased once more with their chilling second production. This time they’re focusing on a grieving foster mother (Hawkins) who appears to incorporate her children in some kind of reincarnation-like ritual, as hinted at by the intriguing preview.
Prior to the movie’s premiere on May 30 in the USA (August 1 in the UK), an initial, lengthier trailer emerges, showcasing Hawkins’ character grappling with the grief of losing someone dear.
The man queries, “How have you managed since Cathy left?”, to which she simply responds, “I haven’t.
In the story, Hawkins takes under her roof two fresh faces, portrayed by actors Sora Wong and Billy Barratt. She then presents them to Oliver, an older sibling played by Jonah Wren Phillips, who is already part of the household.

To aid their connection, the main character reveals that they’ve all experienced the loss of their families. However, these newly acquainted kids find it difficult to bond with Oliver, eventually realizing they’ve been unwittingly drawn into a questionable endeavor orchestrated by their foster mother.
Trigger a compilation of eerie moments as our hero examines old video recordings, snips a strand of hair from an interred body within a casket, and bathes Oliver, who appears connected to the hidden realm.
According to Hawkins in the video, some individuals hold the view that a person’s essence remains within their body for several months following death, and it seems she is about to bring back someone from her past with Oliver’s assistance.

If you’ve watched “Talk To Me” (which we strongly suggest, if you haven’t), then you are aware that tampering with life and death often results in unfavorable consequences for the characters.
The exact outcome of the potentially demonic ending in “Bring Her Back” isn’t fully understood from the trailer, but it seems ominous. For now, let’s be cautious about potential spoilers as the release dates in the US and the UK are two months apart.
Bring Her Back hits US cinemas on 30 May. In the UK, the film releases on August 1.
A Talk To Me sequel, titled Talk 2 Me, has been announced.
