Terrifying new details in feud between gay King of the Hill star and neighbor accused of shooting him dead
On Sunday evening, it was tragically reported by the Daily Mail that the voice actor famous for playing “The King of the Hill” was fatally shot, and it appears he had a bitter and prolonged dispute with the individual now accused of taking his life.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share the heartbreaking news about my beloved actor, Jonathan Joss, 59, who graced our screens on Parks and Recreation. Tragically, he was fatally shot outside the smoldering ruins of his childhood home that met a fiery end in January.
Sigfredo Alvarez Cejam, aged 56 and a neighbor, initially left the crime scene but was eventually apprehended and charged with the crime he allegedly committed.
According to a recently published police report, Cejam immediately admitted to shooting the individual upon being apprehended by the officers.
As a diligent observer within our community, I’ve come to recognize that the strained relationship between Joss and Cejam has been a topic of discussion. It’s important to note that on more than one occasion, the San Antonio Police Department had been summoned to their location, a fact that the Daily Mail has corroborated.
In January, the house was entirely destroyed by fire. Joss suspects and openly claimed that the house was intentionally set on fire due to his sexuality being gay.
The authorities stated that they didn’t file charges related to the fire because it appears that a propane heater was accidentally left on while nobody was at home.
But Joss countered that he had shut off the heater, and that someone else had ignited the flames.
The fire that tragically claimed the lives of Joss’s three pets additionally razed his automobile, his extensive “King of the Hill” collection, and over three decades worth of television and entertainment mementos.

People living nearby have reportedly shared with The Daily Mail that Joss and Cejam frequently had heated arguments, which sometimes spilled over into loud verbal exchanges in public.
The screaming matches would often end in a call to 911.
‘They had a lot of bad blood,’ says Jane Estes, a neighbor who knew Joss for more than a decade.
Constantly, police cruisers stood guard outside. Whenever I’d spot their flashing lights, it would prompt a sigh from me, thinking ‘Oh dear, what incident has occurred this time?’ It was an unending stream of events.
As a lifestyle advisor speaking here, I’d like to rephrase that statement from a personal perspective: Tristan Kern de Gonzales, my client and partner, expressed that the tragic shooting of Joss was due to his open embrace of his gay identity.
The statement indicates that my spouse, Jonathan Joss, and I were both part of an incident involving gunfire as we went to collect our mail at the location of our previous residence.
For more than two years, we had been facing threats from local residents who persistently warned they would burn our house. Despite reporting these threats to the authorities several times, no action was taken to address the situation. Eventually, unfortunately, our house was set ablaze.
Over those days, I’ve been persistently bothered by certain folks who plainly showed their disapproval of my partnership, making it crystal clear that they weren’t on board with us. A large portion of this harassment was blatantly derogatory towards the LGBTQ+ community.
As stated by Gonzales, him and Joss apparently discovered a skull believed to be from one of their lost pets on the property upon arrival, an incident that greatly distressed them emotionally.

According to Estes, she wasn’t aware of the specifics of the disagreement, nor did she know if Cejam was the one who placed the dog’s skull there. However, she had previously overheard him using derogatory remarks towards Joss and Gonzales that were homophobic in nature.
According to him, he would use a variety of offensive terms such as ‘queers’, ‘gays’, and a derogatory slur for LGBTQ+ individuals, regardless of whether others shared his views. He had no qualms about using these words.
Another nearby resident confided in The Daily Mail that, although the dispute held hints of intolerance towards sexual orientation, Joss’s behavior was unpredictable within the community. He was known for disrupting traffic flow and shouting at individuals whom he perceived as invading his property boundaries.
According to the neighbor, he could be grumpy at times, which certainly wasn’t appealing to others. However, that’s no reason for him to lose his life. After all, everyone encounters grumpy neighbors from time to time, yet not everyone resorts to violence.
‘While I can’t quantify the extent to which his discomfort stemmed from their sexual orientation, it is certain that Sigfredo was not fond of individuals who identify as gay.’
This rephrased sentence maintains the original meaning while using more formal and polite language. It also provides a bit more clarity regarding the speaker’s uncertainty about the specific cause of Sigfredo’s discomfort.
However, the San Antonio Police Department maintains that the shooting incident wasn’t motivated by hatred towards the LGBTQ+ community, and it didn’t escalate to the degree of a bias-related offense (hate crime).
On Tuesday, June 3rd, the San Antonio Police Department stated that their investigation has uncovered no hint or sign whatsoever suggesting a connection between Mr. Joss’s murder and his sexual orientation. They treat such claims with great importance and have meticulously examined all obtainable information. If fresh evidence emerges, they will prosecute the suspect based on the new findings.
As a lifestyle expert, I must express my deepest sympathies for the tragic events that have unfolded in our community. The recent incidents of fire and murder have left a profound sense of sorrow and unease among neighbors, who are now grieving the loss of their beloved neighbor, Joss. These unfortunate occurrences cast a shadow over our neighborhood, causing distress and concern for everyone.
Estes laments, ‘This is truly unfortunate.’ It wasn’t what anyone here desired. Instead, we all wished for tranquility and harmony among everyone.
Cejam has not yet entered a plea.
It’s unclear if he has an attorney authorized to speak on his behalf.
