As a cinephile with over three decades of movie-going experience under my belt, I must say that this week’s box office offerings have truly piqued my interest. The Pharrell Williams biopic “Piece by Piece,” debuting at number five, has caught my eye for its intriguing narrative and solid critical acclaim. As a music enthusiast, I can’t wait to see the story of this multi-talented artist unfold on the silver screen.

Joker: Folie à Deux lost its leading position at the box office just a week after release, making way for a new horror film that’s now number one.

As Halloween nears, Terrifier 3 has become the highest-grossing film this past weekend. Its chilling storyline revolves around a murderous clown named Art who aims to extinguish the joy of Christmas in a small town. According to The Numbers, it made an impressive $18.3 million at the box office.

This moderately priced suspense film, produced at approximately $2 million and helmed by Damien Leone in both writing and directing roles, is an uncensored gore extravaganza that has garnered a 78% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The public has enthusiastically endorsed it with a ‘hot’ rating and a strong 90% score on the popcornmeter.

In this tale, The Wild Robot maintained its second position. It’s an exciting animated journey about a robot named Roz who finds herself marooned on a tiny island following a shipwreck. On this new inhabited land, she forges connections with the animals, her fellow inhabitants, and even adopts the role of a caretaker for a motherless gander.

In this production, Lupita Nyong’o lends her voice to the character Roz, while Pedro Pascal, Mark Hamill, Catherine O’Hara, and Ving Rhames each provide voices for different characters.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that the movie in question is generating a significant buzz for the upcoming awards season. Notably, it has garnered an impressive 98% approval rating from both film critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

It earned $13.45 million over the weekend. So far, the film has pulled in more than $83.7 million domestically and more than $64 million internationally for a global take of $148.45 million.

Finishing third in their opening week was Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in “Joker: Folie à Deux”. Despite securing victory at the box office during its premiere, it couldn’t outdo the negative criticism, experiencing a sharp drop of 82% in ticket sales.

Despite playing in over 4,000 U.S. cinemas, the film managed to earn just $7.055 million.

Michael Keaton remains the central figure in the ongoing saga of “Beetlejuice” as the anticipated dramedy captivates audiences. The unusual supernatural battle between Beetlejuice and the Deetz family has garnered a whopping $7.05 million so far, proving to be an irresistible spectacle for viewers eager to witness it.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ended the weekend in fourth place.

Making its entrance at position five is the Pharrell Williams biographical film, titled “Piece by Piece.” This film recounts Williams’ journey from humble beginnings to international stardom in the music industry, using Lego figures to bring the story to life.

In Williams’ musical adventure, notable artists like Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and others are depicted as Lego figures. Despite being screened in only around 2,000 theaters, the film managed to garner $3.8 million from its enthusiastic fanbase.

On the weekend, Transformers One slowed down to a sixth position finish. The animated film featuring the voice talents of Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Bryan Tyree Henry concluded its run with an earnings total of $3.65 million.

On Saturdays, the film that delves into the history of the revolutionary late-night television program “Saturday Night Live” climbed up the charts, reaching position 7 after being screened for three weeks in cinemas with a limited release. It raked in approximately $3.4 million at the box office.

In this retelling, the historical comedy-drama was helmed by Jason Reitman and jointly penned, centering around the chaotic attempts to assemble an eccentric group of comedians for the debut episode, all while creator Lorne Michaels grappled with intense pressure from NBC executives.

The re-release of Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas brought some holiday cheer to audiences who made their way to theaters to watch the beloved tale.

The project co-written and directed by Tim Burton found $2.3 million under the Christmas tree.

The television show titled “The Apprentice,” featuring Sebastian Stan portraying a younger Donald Trump and Jeremy Strong as his mentor Roy Cohn, premiered in the 10th spot during its initial limited release, earning a total of $1.58 million.

The film looks at how Trump became a real estate mogul in New York City well before he ever considered jumping into politics.  Critics gave it a 77-percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences were more enthusiastic, giving in an 86-percent approval rating.
