Terri strikes again! Irwin patriarch puts a stop to Robert’s new girlfriend from heading to the jungle as he prepares to host I’m A Celebrity… as her ‘identity’ is finally revealed

It’s being whispered that Robert, aged 21, has been in a relationship with Charlotte Briggs, a previous employee at Australia Zoo, since November 2024.

According to sources, the TV personality is holding off on publicly revealing his new romantic partner until he gets approval from his mother. Daily Mail Australia reports this development.

It’s not unexpected that, with the ‘momager’ intervening, Robert’s plans for Charlotte to travel with him to South Africa this month have hit a significant snag.

According to a trusted source from Australia Zoo, it’s no secret among the staff that there’s someone special in Steve Irwin’s life, yet the Irwin family has not decided to publicly reveal this relationship just yet. (Daily Mail Australia)

Terri suggests that Robert should prioritize his professional growth, as she currently doesn’t feel prepared for the responsibilities that come with starting a family, much like Bindi.

At least, not yet.

Currently, a team member from I’m A Celebrity confirms that Terri will remain with her youngest child during the entire jungle filming for this season. Producers had hoped for a change in this arrangement for the 2025 series.

Robert isn’t new to having issues with partners joining him on jobs – his ex-girlfriend, Rorie Buckey, was dropped the year prior when they were supposed to collaborate in South Africa for a project scheduled in 2024.

Robert has experienced this situation before where he couldn’t bring a partner along on a job – his former girlfriend, Rorie Buckey, got let go last year, which meant they wouldn’t be working together in South Africa for the planned 2024 production.

This week, everyone is eagerly watching Robert’s social media platforms in anticipation of the grand debut of Charlotte. However, some close sources have their doubts that the so-called ‘eligible bachelor’ will reveal his relationship status before the show premieres on January 19th, if Terri prevents him from flying over with her.

The source adds, “Terri might be considering a break in her relationship for approximately four to five weeks.

‘Could that kind of separation strain be what has been going on with Robert and his mystery woman?’

On a Tuesday, precisely ten days before the highly-anticipated premiere of I’m A Celebrity on Channel 10, Robert and his mother Terri arrived at Sydney Airport.

They were joined by the family’s ‘right-hand man’ Luke Reavley.

Masked up on arrival, Robert dressed casually in relaxed blue jeans and a navy blue polo shirt.

He finished off his attire by wearing a pair of running sneakers, and he was wheeling along two suitcases within the airport.

While Terri was dressed in a khaki shirt adorned with golden details on the breast pocket, she continued to follow the color scheme of the Australia Zoo.

She paired her appearance with a dark green hoodie loosely tied at her hips, a set of baggy blue denim pants, and black athletic sneakers.

In a sea of solid-colored travel bags, the mother-of-two’s suitcases, adorned with beloved Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, were distinctly noticeable.

Most recently, there have been rumors that Robert has been spending time with Charlotte, as they’ve been spotted on several public outings together.

In July, whispers circulated about their relationship status when photos emerged showing them appearing quite affectionate as they arrived in Sydney side by side.

Robert’s mom, Terri, also arrived with them prior to Robert appearing on The Project, as they flew into the city beforehand.

Later on, Robert and Charlotte were spotted entering an upscale Sydney hotel as guests, accompanied by Terri.

The pair put on a chatty display at the front of the establishment before walking inside together.

For the first time since his surprising breakup with girlfriend Rorie in February, Robert has been connected to another person.

Charlotte has a reputation in the cricket sphere, having played for the Sunshine Coast Scorchers team from Queensland during the years 2020 to 2021.

The impressive athlete is a bowling all-rounder and a right arm fast bowler. 

In the 2020/21 season, Charlotte stood out as one of the top wicket-takers and was instrumental in helping the team secure victories in several games during the 2021 season, as stated in her biography on the official Sunshine Coast Scorchers website.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but admire Charlotte, one of the OG Scorcher Ladies, who consistently pours her heart and soul into her work year after year.

In the previous year, her significant responsibilities included bowling crucial final overs effectively and batting in the middle to later stages.

In 2021, Century Cricket Competitions Queensland recognized her as a pioneering figure in the sport, and she has amassed numerous accolades for her exceptional bowling skills and overall gameplay.

She boasts an extensive background in cricket, representing the Queensland Burners team during her teenage years and participating in the Queensland Cricket Under-18 Female Rookie Challenge back in 2017.

More recently, Robert shared insights into his romantic experiences after parting ways with girlfriend Rorie approximately a year ago, during an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

‘How’s the dating world going? I know you were with someone,’ host Kyle Sandilands asked.

Currently, I’ve been incredibly swamped. Between my work on the Logies and I’m A Celebrity, things have been extremely hectic.

After announcing their unexpected split in February, Robert and Rorie swiftly removed any signs of their relationship from their respective social media platforms.

After nearly two years together, they announced their separation through a joint post on Rorie’s Instagram account.

They expressed that they were choosing to part ways individually, yet they valued every moment they shared.

‘It’s been decided for us to part ways, but we deeply value every moment we’ve shared and hope nothing but the best for each other as we move forward.’

Let me rephrase that for a more natural and conversational tone: ‘As we go our separate ways, we want to convey our appreciation and admiration for each other.’

‘We won’t provide any additional comments for now. Thank you for understanding our need for privacy during this period.’

It is thought that Robert and Rorie started dating back in November 2022, however, they didn’t make their relationship public on Instagram until nearly a year had passed, in August 2023.
