Terri Irwin Reveals She’s Happy Being Single After Steve’s Death

Terri Irwin has revealed that she is still single – and happy to be. 

60-year-old woman shared with this week’s Stellar Magazine that she hasn’t felt the desire to date another man since the unfortunate passing of her husband, Steve Irwin, in 2006.

She remarked, “There must be countless wonderful individuals scattered around the globe, but for me, I’ve found my ‘happily-ever-after,’ and I believe there’s still plenty of love in my existence.

Terri explained, “I miss Steve, but I’m not actually feeling lonely. I don’t mourn the times when I’m alone or not in a relationship.

I believe it’s important to express that sentiment. I want to emphasize that women continue to be extraordinary, accomplished individuals, regardless of whether they choose to marry, raise four children, two children, or no children at all.

‘There are no rules’.

Terri previously insisted she has no plans to get back into the dating market. 

The American-Australian conservationist expressed that they had achieved their fairy tale ending when speaking to Us Weekly prior to attending the Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, no contemporary can compare to the unique blend of adventure, knowledge, and charisma he brought to wildlife education, a stingray barb in his chest being the unfortunate cause.

Terri remarked, “Though there are many great men out there, it’s hard to find someone like Steve Irwin. It’s just not possible.

She might say, “I’d respond with something like, ‘It’s awesome that you’re a librarian and the Dewey Decimal System is neat, but I need to leap over a crocodile right now.’ However, forget about that,” she concluded.

Terri has been wedded to Steve, a zookeeper, for fourteen years before he passed away unexpectedly in September 2006. They are proud parents of their two children: Bindi, now 26 years old, and Robert, who is 21 years of age.

On September 4, 2006, Steve met an unfortunate end after being pierced by a stingray at Batt Reef, which is located close to Port Douglas in the northern region of Queensland.

The mother-of-two hasn’t dated anyone publicly since her late husband tragically died.

Last year, Terri broke her silence on long-standing rumours that she dated actor Russell Crowe.

On KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, she unexpectedly showed up while her son, Robert Irwin, was promoting “I’m A Celebrity” on his press tour.

Sitting behind the microphone, matriarch Terri addressed the decades-long ‘romance’.

‘Have we been linked? I can’t remember,’ she joked.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands cut to the chase by asking: ‘Who are you having sex with?’ 

‘I have a lot of quiet evenings with a nice, big, juicy pizza,’ Terri answered.

Crowe is currently engaged to Britney Theriot.

Subsequently, they delved into the topic of Robert’s mother’s romantic affairs following inquiries from both Kyle and Jackie O Henderson. (age and profession are not essential for clarity)

‘Mum has been linked to something like 30 people,’ he revealed.

‘I mean, it was King Charles, it was Russell, it was everyone.’

The individual who won an Oscar is well-known for being a long-term advocate and ally of Australia Zoo, as well as having a close bond with the Irwin family. For decades, speculation about a romantic relationship between him and Terri has circulated, but she has consistently refuted these rumors.

In 2021, Terri denied she dated Russell saying she was ‘very very single’.

2017 saw her sharing with Access Hollywood that Russell and Steve had been friends for quite some time. After Steve’s passing, it was clear who the genuine friends were. Russell, indeed, proved to be a faithful friend throughout this period.

Regardless of their repeated denials, it’s worth noting that Russell has expressed fondness for Terri in the past too.

Despite them always saying they weren’t together, Russell has spoken positively about Terri on other occasions.

He stated, “Terri is one of the most remarkable women I’ve encountered throughout my lifetime, with no insinuation of any personal relationship or otherwise.

It’s no secret that I have a deep affection for Terri Irwin. I admire her children, cherish the way she keeps the legacy of Steve alive, and I deeply respect the work they both started together. Truly, she embodies the spirit of a champion.
