Terminator Zero’s first trailer offers darker glimpse at Judgment Day
As a longtime fan of the Terminator franchise, I am beyond excited about the upcoming anime series, Terminator Zero. The trailer alone has already given me goosebumps with its nods to the classic films and the promise of new adventures in this beloved universe.
As a passionate gamer and fan of the Terminator franchise, I was thrilled when Netflix dropped the first trailer for “Terminator Zero” on Monday. This new anime series, produced by Skydance Entertainment and Production I.G, is set in the beloved Terminator universe and follows an exciting narrative.
In the trailer, there are numerous references to the initial Terminator film and the concept of Judgment Day. You’ll notice scenes of a city being destroyed by a nuclear blast, an assembly line producing T-800 endoskeleton faceplates, someone being moved through a time field generator, and a Terminator working on the machinery hidden under its arm.
In this scene, the video appears perfectly suited with its ominous and intense atmosphere. Eiko dashes through a corridor smeared with blood while shooting at a gas tank to defend herself against an approaching Terminator. This upcoming animated installment in the Terminator series is sure to add intrigue as it navigates the convoluted (or complexly confusing) timeline of the films, which revolve around John Connor and his mother Sarah, both striving to live amidst a relentless robot assassin dispatched from the future to thwart Sarah’s role in leading an effective rebellion against its mechanical overlords.
I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of the cast for “Terminator Zero,” a new project helmed by Masashi Kudo, who brought “Bleach” to life, and Mattson Tomlin, the brilliant mind behind “Project Power” and “The Batman.” Joining me will be acting greats Rosario Dawson from “Ahsoka,” Ann Dowd of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and Timothy Olyphant known for his work in “Justified.” We’ll also have the talents of Mizuno from “Devs” and Holland from “High Flying Bird” on board. Can’t wait to see what this team creates!
Terminator Zero will premiere Aug. 29 on Netflix.
