Teresa Giudice’s husband Luis Ruelas is slammed by Real Housewives Of New Jersey fans for saying he hopes Margaret Josephs’ son ‘suffers’
As a long-time fan of the Real Housewives franchise, I must say that this season of RHONJ has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, especially when it comes to Teresa and Louis. Growing up with Italian roots myself, I can relate to the fiery passion and quick tempers that are often associated with our culture. However, what I’ve witnessed between Teresa and Louis this season feels like more than just a heated argument – it seems like a pattern of toxic behavior.
Some viewers of The Real Housewives of New Jersey became angry during the season 14 finale on Sunday, as Teresa Giudice’s husband Luis Ruelas spoke sharply about a costar, Margaret Josephs’ son.
Before Teresa sat down for her candid ‘Last Supper’ with her friends, Luis confronted her about Margaret, who is 57 years old. This was after Teresa had earlier accused Margaret of talking to one of Luis’s former partners and subsequently spreading negative gossip about him.
In a more relaxed tone, we could say: With a flushed complexion, 49-year-old Luis suggested a strategy to his 52-year-old spouse for handling the potentially turbulent meeting she was approaching with the other women.
As a person who has faced hardships and struggles within my own family, I cannot help but feel strongly about the words spoken by this individual. His demand for someone to stay away from our family is understandable, given his past experiences. However, his wish for Margaret and her family to suffer, particularly focusing on her son suffering as he has, crosses a line of decency and compassion. It’s essential to remember that everyone goes through tough times, but wishing harm upon others only perpetuates more pain and conflict. Instead, we should strive to show understanding and empathy towards those who are facing difficulties, offering support and kindness whenever possible.
In response to his belief being right, Teresa implied that her children had experienced hardship due to Margaret’s actions, thus suggesting agreement with Margaret’s behavior being warranted.
Luis turned up the temperature by calling Margaret a ‘disgusting, vile human being.’
He went on to say, “She’s here to exploit all the situations, and she’s quite unpleasant, Teresa. Frankly, if Margaret doesn’t apologize to you, I don’t think it’s worth your time to be in her presence at all.”
However, many Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) viewers found themselves disagreeing with Luis following the scene, as his remark about Margaret’s son did not sit well with them.
Many individuals found it troubling that he targeted a non-combatant, given that Margaret’s son chose not to participate in the series and does not appear on screen.
‘One user on X expressed shock, stating that it goes too far for Luis to express hope that Marge’s son experiences suffering. To date, her son has not been involved in any public discussions about the alleged incident, nor has he spoken out publicly regarding what supposedly occurred.’
Another viewer angrily commented, “Luis is absolutely heartless for making such remarks about Margaret’s son in pain. Clearly, he lacks the compassion and kindness required to be considered a decent person.”
It appeared that those who typically didn’t support Teresa were just as worried about Luis’ comments as her usual supporters often are.
As much as I’m not typically drawn to Teresa’s charms, I can’t help but question the choice of pairing her with Louise. Frankly, it seems like a match made in some mysterious universe where opposites apparently attract!
A different perspective was shared by another viewer: “Louis appears to be the ruin of Teresa and #RHONJ. Truly despicable individual.”
Even fans who didn’t care for Margaret thought Luis’ comments were out of line.
‘Look Margaret is a dumb b*** most of the time doing shady s***. But Teresa… HONEY your man, wishing they suffer is wild,’ warned one fan. ‘Luis is buck f***ing wild! I would seriously try to get away from him Teresa!’
In the same episode, I, as a lifestyle enthusiast, found myself cringing when Teresa disparaged Margaret’s spouse, referring to him as a mere “plumber.” This remark certainly didn’t sit well with many viewers, including myself.
‘Marge being married to a plumber is an insult how? Joe is one of the best husbands on the show,’ wrote an outraged fan, via Page Six.
A different user stated, “Teresa’s comments about Joe as a plumber, and so forth, are appalling… True men put in effort to earn a living, and tradespeople are of higher status than you.” (Note: The original statement may be considered derogatory or offensive. It has been rephrased to avoid such connotations.)
Although Luis and Teresa were planning an attack on Margaret, they were taken aback when Margaret disclosed that Jackie Goldschneider was the one who initially spoke to Luis’ former associate, whom he had a legal dispute with earlier.
However, Teresa displayed greater leniency towards Jackie. This could be due to their stronger pre-existing bond or her reluctance to spread her anger beyond Jackie, focusing it on Margaret instead.
Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) is set to return for its last episode where the cast members gather to watch and discuss the season finale. To prevent any tension between feuding groups, the ladies will be separated into two distinct rooms.
A week ago, Andy Cohen from Bravo suggested that the show could benefit from a refresh or reimagining to eliminate the harmful relationships and constant bickering.
He has suggested similar moves in recent weeks as fans have increasing complained on his radio show about RHONJ.
Alternatively, Cohen’s latest, rather radical remark might have been intended to prompt the dissatisfied caller to conclude her grievance.
