Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas’ saga with his ex continues as Vanessa Reiser’s DUI arrest is revealed

As a seasoned viewer of reality TV shows, I must say that watching the latest episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey left me feeling quite sympathetic towards Teresa Giudice. The drama surrounding her and Louis Ruelas’ ex-partner has undoubtedly taken a toll on her wellbeing, causing stress that seems to have led to noticeable weight loss. It’s truly unfortunate to see someone as vibrant and full of life as Teresa being reduced to a ‘shell of the person she was last year.’

Louie Ruelas’ former fiancee, Vanessa Reiser, was taken into custody for driving under the influence, as reported by DailyMail.com. This DUI incident occurred during a court case involving a restraining order, which had been causing stress and anxiety for Teresa Giudice.

As a long-time fan of reality TV shows, I find it fascinating to observe how characters like Reiser become central figures in the plotlines of popular series such as The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In this season, her role has been particularly intriguing, especially during the July 21 episode where she invited her closest castmates to her home to discuss her rival, Margaret Josephs. With my years of watching and analyzing reality television, I can confidently say that Reiser’s actions and decisions have added a layer of complexity to the storyline that keeps viewers engaged and eager for more. Accompanied by her lawyer James Leonard, Giudiuce, aged 52, shared with the group that it was Joseph, also 57, who was reportedly involved in the case of Reiser’s restraining order and had been secretly communicating with Louie’s former partner throughout the process.

In October 2023, following the filming of the episode, news broke out that Ruelas had won a court case. This was after Reiser’s request for a permanent restraining order was turned down at the age of 51.

According to exclusive documents from DailyMail.com, it emerged a month prior to the dismissal of her complaint, she had been taken into custody for driving under the influence.

2023-09-22, I found myself in a regrettable situation – getting pulled over by the Monmouth County DWI Strike Force Checkpoint in New Jersey at about 10:35 PM, all while under the influence. Oh, the irony of it all… as a licensed therapist!

As stated in the police record, the officer noted that a potent smell of alcohol wafted from Reiser, the passenger in a Jeep, upon first encounter.

The officer also observed that her eyes were ‘bloodshot and watery and she had droopy eyelids.’

According to the report, the officer was told by Reiser that she had just left a friend’s place in Red Bank and had only had two alcoholic beverages.

Upon being told to repeat the alphabet, as directed by the officer, I was requested to step out of my car and undergo a series of tests. These included the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test, a walk-and-turn evaluation, for which I chose to forego my heels, and the one-leg stand test.

Following her failure to align ‘heel to toe in every step’ and struggling to balance on just one leg, the officer decided it was necessary for her protection and applied handcuffs instead of continuing with the test.

Inside the patrol car, the officers continued to detect a potent aroma suggestive of alcohol while they moved Reiser for processing at the Middletown Police Station.

Instead of taking the breathalyzer test, she insisted on talking to her lawyer first.

A mugshot, that is not available to the public, was taken, and she was released soon after.

In the heat of my uncontainable obsession, I found myself standing before the law for some rather grave offenses. I was accused of cruising the roads while under the influence, exhibiting reckless driving behavior, refusing to submit a breath sample when requested, and being in possession of an expired driver’s insurance card at the time of the incident.

In October 2023, Reiser was due in court, and it’s been reported by DailyMail.com that she pleaded not guilty at this appearance.

Additionally, she had a scheduled court appearance on August 8, 2024; however, this has now been postponed until next month. This is when the evidence-gathering phase (discovery) for the case will conclude.

When DailyMail.com reached out, Reiser’s lawyer issued a statement explaining that Vanessa declined to perform a breath test because the checkpoint was established illegally under constitutional law, denying the police reasonable grounds and violating her 4th Amendment rights. No tests were conducted to definitively prove she was intoxicated, and no alcohol was discovered in her bloodstream. This was Red Bank’s first checkpoint in a decade, with every vehicle being stopped instead of adhering to the law.

In the particular Real Housewives of New Jersey episode, the Original Housewife noted that her spouse has been engaged in legal proceedings with his ex for the last three years, as they gathered to discuss off-camera happenings.

‘Recently, she filed a restraining order, claiming Luis has been harassing her,’ she recounted to her castmates. 

Essentially, what she is saying is this: ‘She has been attempting to tarnish his good name,’ she added. ‘It’s not right to spread falsehoods about someone or cause them harm in any shape or form.’

Giudice also confessed that it was ‘really stressful’ dealing with the legal drama. 

Simultaneously, Dolores Catania, her friend, expressed that Giudice appeared to be in disarray and had an unusually high level of anxiety.

Danielle Cabral acknowledged the significant weight loss of the mother of four and commented that she appears to weigh approximately 90 pounds, even when wet, due to her high levels of stress.

In simpler terms, Cabral mentioned that Teresa appears to be very troubled. She seems to have changed dramatically from the vibrant person she was last year, as there isn’t much peace or tranquility in her home at present.

According to her, the intense dislike Giudice feels towards Joseph stems from her past association with Ruelas’ former partner.

Back in November 2021, I found myself summoned to court by none other than Ruelas’ legal eagle! Quite a shocking turn of events, don’t you think?

Back on November 12th, I received a subpoena – a treasure I unearthed from the mailbox – and it was calling me to the courtroom on November 17th of the very same year. Oh, the anticipation!

According to the information obtained by DailyMail.com, Josephs submitted a request, known as a Motion to Quash, to Ruelas’ legal representative, stating that at that time, they had barely established acquaintance with Louie.

At that time, Margaret hadn’t known Louis (Louie) or Vanessa Reiser yet. She also wasn’t part of their family argument. Consequently, she didn’t show up in court, and it seemed quite dramatic and amusing to her that people thought she should be contacted about the situation. This is what the source revealed.

She informed the cast, production team, and Louie’s lawyer that she wished to stay clear of their internal conflicts or disputes.

Since then, Joseph has admitted to communicating with Ruelas’ former partner and furthermore, he revealed during the Real Housewives of New Jersey finale that Reiser had visited Jackie Goldschneider’s home, aiming to gather information about Ruela that could potentially be damaging at the time.

RHONJ’s latest episode, a non-traditional reunion special, aired on August 11 on Bravo.
