“Tense” new crime thriller based on a true story confirms release date

Apple TV+ has confirmed the release date for its new crime thriller.

Drawing inspiration from real-life events, the film titled “The Savant” features Jessica Chastain portraying a covert detective, dedicated to tracking and identifying domestic extremists by monitoring malicious online communities.

The character navigates the ominous depths of the online world to thwart terrible assaults, all while managing the constant obligations of being a mother.

The Savant,” described as a blend of suspenseful thriller and heartfelt family drama, is set to premiere worldwide on Apple’s streaming platform on the 26th of September.

As reported by Variety, the initial two episodes are set to debut simultaneously, followed by fresh episodes being rolled out each Friday, culminating on 7th November.

The show is based on an article published in Cosmopolitan magazine in 2019 by Andrea Stanley, entitled “Can We Prevent a Mass Shooting Before It Occurs?

Apart from starring in the main character, Chastain will also take on the role of executive producer, working alongside Kelly Carmichael, Alan Poul, Melissa James Gibson, Matthew Heineman, David Levine, and Garrett Kemble.

Simultaneously, Nnamdi Asomugha, who played in Crown Heights and NFL, will also appear in the series. He is accompanied by Cole Doman from American Horror Story, James Badge Dale, Jordana Spiro from Dexter, Trinity Lee Shirley, and Richard Gant.

Elsewhere, Chastain recently joined another Apple TV+ drama series, directed by Sam Gold.

In the opulent realm of elite art, the story The Dealer delves into the intricate dynamics between an ambitious art dealer, portrayed by Chastain, and a gifted yet challenging artist, played by Adam Driver.

The Savant will be available to stream globally on Apple TV+ on 26 September.
