I’m so excited! Tencent Games just announced their new game, All-Star Awakening, and it’s a team-battler RPG coming to iOS in China later this year. What’s really cool is it’s officially based on SNK’s classic games – they’ve really done a great job bringing those characters and worlds to life. You can even pre-register for it now!

Build your dream team of iconic fighters from various SNK series

Okay, so I’ve been checking out All-Star Awakening, and it’s a card-battle RPG that SNK officially gave the thumbs-up to. Basically, it’s got a ton of characters I already know and love from games like The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and even Metal Slug! The story is set in the world of King of Fighters, which is awesome if you’ve been a fan of SNK for years like me. It’s really cool seeing all these universes colliding in one game.

Assemble your ultimate fighting team with iconic characters like Iori Yagami, Kyo Kusanagi, Mai Shiranui, Ukyo Tachibana, Nakoruru, and over 50 more! The game also features a great system for character development, letting all your fighters reach their full potential through fair and consistent progression.

Players can engage in 1v1 battles and explore interactive zones

I was especially impressed by how the game recreates the excitement of classic arcade fighting games with its one-on-one battles. It lets you unleash strong attacks, fast combos, and spectacular special moves, just like the old-school fighting games we all loved.

The game aims for smooth action and impressive combo attacks, and I’m eager to try them out. Overall, it looks really enjoyable, particularly after playing THE KOF AFK. It’s built with the Unity engine and features a detailed 3D city with familiar locations that you can actually fight in.

The mobile game All-Star Awakening is coming to iOS in China later this year, and pre-registration is now available on the App Store. The App Store listing indicates a release date of December 31, 2025. Currently, there’s no information about an Android version, so be sure to check back for updates!
