Tencent Games announced that their monster-collecting role-playing game, Roco Kingdom: World, will be released in China on March 26, 2026. The news came during a livestream celebrating the 15th anniversary of MoreFun Studios. Players in China could already sign up for the game on iOS devices starting this August.

Roco Kingdom: World finally has a launch date! While it’s not available everywhere yet, this is a positive sign. The game, which was originally announced in 2022, has gone through several testing phases, including an offline test in 2023 and a first closed beta test earlier this year. Now, it seems like the game is almost ready for release.

I’m so excited! Soon, I’ll get to start playing as a new student in the Roco Kingdom, and it’s such a charming world full of these cute little creatures called Rocos. You can collect them, become friends with them, and go on all sorts of adventures! What really has me hyped is that it’s a sequel to the original Roco Kingdom created by Mr. Enzo Zhang – I loved the first one!

I believe this game has strong potential to become very popular in China, and eventually worldwide, mirroring the success of the original game. Its biggest draw is the appealing combination of collecting creatures, similar to Pokémon, with the freedom to explore a vast open world, much like in Genshin Impact.

As global players, we’ll likely have to be patient. However, I believe that’s a good thing. I’d rather the developers take the time to fully refine the game before launch. It looks incredibly promising with its varied environments, engaging combat, charming characters, and lots more.
