Temuera Morrison’s Bold Ahsoka Season 2 Pitch: Will Boba Fett Return?
It’s been some time since fans of “The Book of Boba Fett” last saw their title character, which aired as a single season from 2021 to 2022. The ex-bounty hunter has established himself as the ruler of Mos Espa and is managing the spaceport alongside Fennic Shand. Currently, it looks like BoBF will continue as a miniseries, but its main actor, Temuera Morrison, hasn’t lost faith that the show may come back. Additionally, Morrison is also proposing himself for “Ahsoka” Season 2, and I find his suggestion intriguing.
For more than two decades since playing Jango Fett in “Attack of the Clones”, Temuera Morrison has maintained a deep interest in his bounty hunter characters. Consequently, it’s not surprising that he voiced disappointment during an interview with Collider about Boba Fett’s show not having a second season. It appears that Morrison is aware of the return of another show set in the “Mando-verse”, which may not be overlooked by him.
I share your disappointment; there seems to be no news about The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 yet.
More on Ahsoka

In a fascinating twist of events, Ravi Cabot-Conyers from ‘Skeleton Crew’ expresses his desire for a crossover with the Star Wars character, Ahsoka. He shares an intriguing tale about meeting Rosario Dawson, who portrays Ahsoka in live-action. Essentially, he is asking if such a collaboration would indeed be part of the Star Wars canon.
Viewed from a critical perspective, the series “Book of Boba Fett” became one of the more contentious additions to the extensive science-fiction universe of Star Wars. While it garnered accolades for its thrilling action and the exceptional acting of its principal actor, it was not without its detractors. Criticism arose concerning its pacing, reliance on familiar Star Wars motifs, and integration of storylines linked to other television series. For example, the show’s focus on the reunion of Din Djarin and Grogu from “The Mandalorian” was deemed strange by certain viewers. Nonetheless, ratings for “Fett” indicated that it resonated with its audience.
I’m really eager to find out what Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and Robert Rodriguez might create if they were given an extra season focused on Boba Fett. For now, though, I can’t help but ponder over the idea Temuera Morrison proposed for the second season of Ahsoka – it’s certainly intriguing!
I’m trying to ring them up. Can I be Rex and take his helmet off, please?
Given that Captain Rex, along with all clone troopers, shares DNA with Jango Fett (similar to Boba), actor Temuera Morrison could potentially feature in the series Ahsoka. Interestingly, Morrison has already made a brief appearance as a homeless trooper in an episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Given the narrative direction of the Ahsoka Tano series, it seems logical for Rex to make an appearance. It’s worth noting that the show is essentially a continuation of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, where Rex and Tano are allies in the Ghost crew.

As a dedicated Star Wars fan, I must confess that the franchise’s heavy leaning on nostalgia has started to wear thin on me. However, considering Ahsoka seems deeply entrenched in this pattern, I propose a refreshing twist: why not bring Temuera Morrison into the scene as Rex? It’s not entirely implausible, although details remain vague at this stage. Regardless, I can only hope that there will be a chance for Morrison to rejoin the Star Wars universe in some capacity down the line.
