As a long-time fan of the Tekken series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Bandai Namco announced that the legendary King of Iron Fist himself, Heihachi Mishima, would be making his return as the next DLC character in Tekken 8! The news came during EVO 2024, and it was the perfect way to cap off an already amazing event.
Bandai Namco revealed that Heihachi Mishima, known as the “King of the Iron Fist” in the tournament, will join the cast of “Tekken 8” as its upcoming downloadable content character, available later in 2023.
At EVO 2024 over the weekend, it was announced that the newsworthy information emerged. This disclosure aligns with the unveiling of Tekken 8’s second downloadable character, Lidia Sobieska, who is also known as “Warrior Prime Minister.” Eddy Gordo was previously introduced in April as the game’s first DLC character. You can watch the debut trailer below to get a sneak peek of Heihachi.
In Tekken 7, Heihachi seemed to meet his end, but he’s back with a vengeance in Tekken 8, scheduled for release in autumn 2024. His anger towards his son Kazuya Mishima and rival is palpable, setting the stage for the continuation of the Mishima Saga as Heihachi seeks retribution.
