Tekken 8 Patch v2.04 adds Swimsuit DLC but zero balance changes

The recently released update for Tekken 8 introduces two summer-themed downloadable content packages, enhanced photo mode features, and additional elements. However, there’s a lively discussion among fans about whether the newly introduced outfits can genuinely be described as “distinctive.

At EVO, an exhilarating Armor King trailer was unveiled; a sneak peek of a fresh character named Mairy Zo followed suit, and now, in Tekken Patch v.2.04, we have unique summer swimsuits on offer from Bandai Namco. It’s clear they’ve been busy in the kitchen. But Tekken 8 enthusiasts are left wondering if these new outfits truly live up to their “unique” label.

In simple terms, the Tekken 8 Update Version 2.04, scheduled for release on August 5th, doesn’t make any adjustments to game balancing but rather enhances the user experience in practice modes and data display.

Tekken Patch v.2.04 – Swimsuit DLC

In the latest update, Patch v.2.04, we’ve got two DLC packs: Seaside Pack and Beach Fun Pack. These official swimwear DLCs provide new outfits for a total of 36 characters. Unfortunately, Kuma and Panda are the only ones who won’t be sporting these beach looks.

The costumes are associated with the particular character, and Bandai Namco has confirmed that additional characters won’t be included in future DLC packages.

  • ”Seaside Pack” Added
    – 25 character-specific swimsuit costumes
  • “Beach Fun Pack” Added
    – 11 character-specific swimsuit costumes

For those who use PCs and have experience with Tekken 8 mods, it’s not very likely that these two packs will capture your interest. On the other hand, gamers playing on consoles might find themselves intrigued by them.

Instead of last year’s Vacation Pack and Diva Pack swimsuit outfits, these new ones appear quite simple, particularly for the female characters. On the contrary, Capcom has paid significant attention to detail with their Outfit 4 DLC for Street Fighter 6, which is set to release on the same day.

The swimsuits this year are rather basic compared to the ones from last summer’s Vacation Pack and Diva Pack, especially for female characters. However, Capcom has really gone all out with the Outfit 4 DLC for Street Fighter 6, which will be available on the same day.

Are the swimsuits unique or copy paste?

On social media, a user known as UMIN asserted that only a handful (2-3) of mesh models were employed to design all the new swimwear in Tekken 8. This observation was echoed by users on platform X, who pointed out discrepancies such as Reina’s head not aligning with her body, giving her an uncanny resemblance to a low-cost mannequin.

Color Mask added – Unleash the memes

Upon initial observation, the Color Mask Adjustment feature introduced in Tekken v2.04 might appear insignificant, but it’s surprisingly transformative. This new functionality empowers you to pick any color for the backdrop of your images captured within Practice and Versus Mode. For instance, consider a green screen background. Now, you have the freedom to export these images to create memes or design stunning wallpapers according to your whims.

Implemented a New Color Adjustment Feature in Photo Mode

– Introduced an option for “Custom Tint Adjustment” within the filter function.
– Now allows you to alter the backdrop color to any preferred hue.

Tekken Patch v.2.04: Additional new features

In my gaming world, apart from the fresh additions to the Tekken Store and the Color Mask, Patch v2.04 brought about some pretty cool changes that I can’t wait to explore!

  • 5 new character panels
  • Special Deal Event: Up to 75% discount on selected items
  • Added “Throw Break Training”
  • Changes to Result Screen in online matches

In simple terms, the upcoming update for Tekken 8, labeled as version 2.05, is scheduled for release in September. Its main aim is to address any existing issues and make necessary enhancements.
