Tekken 8 Marks a Triumphant Comeback For Heihachi Mishima as a DLC Fighter Today
As a long-time fan with over two decades of Tekken under my belt, I must say that the return of Heihachi Mishima in Tekken 8 feels like a nostalgic punch to the gut, in the best possible way. The sly old fox has always been one of my favorite characters, and seeing him evolve yet again is nothing short of breathtaking.
Today, the iconic figure Heihachi Mishima returns to the scene in Tekken 8, despite apparently meeting his end in Tekken 7. He’s the third downloadable character added to the game, joining forces with Eddy Gordo and Lidia Sobieska.
After narrowly escaping death, Heihachi makes his comeback, now boasting an “advanced” combat technique as a result of his training with Tekken monks. Heihachi enters the arena in Tekken 8 simultaneously with the introduction of the new Genmaji Temple stage, and a 1.08 update featuring ‘Unforgotten Echoes’, a free Story Mode content.
The upcoming chapter focuses on Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi, shedding light on how Grandaddy Mishima miraculously survived his destiny in Tekken 7. All three characters can be played by users, regardless of ownership, within Unforgotten Echoes. Additionally, Update 1.08 introduces the option to display any character on the main menu for Tekken 8 and offers online training sessions at the Tekken Fight Lounge.
Introduced alongside the Tekken Fight Pass is an exciting collaboration – Tekken x Nike shoes, along with limited-time in-game Gentle Monster sunglasses for Kazuya Mishima. Meanwhile, Heihachi Mishima has been added to the Tekken 8 Character Year 1 Pass, accessible on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
