2025 has added TEKKEN 8 to its official esports roster on March 20th. Just like Overwatch 2, Teamfight Tactics (TFT), League of Legends, Chess, and others, this fighting game is now part of the announced lineup for competitive play in 2025.

Ulsan to play TEKKEN 8 at Esports World Cup 2025

Based on his social media update, it appears that “Lim ‘Ulsan’ Soo-hoon”, the victor of TEKKEN 8 from the previous year’s competition, is set to participate in the Esports World Cup 2025 too.

This year, I’m planning to return to Saudi Arabia once more, with my sights set on the prize – TEKKEN 8!

2024 saw Ulsan triumph in the TEKKEN 8 tournament, partnered with Dragunov. This win brought him a prize money of $300,000 USD. Additionally, his exceptional performance earned him the title of MVP, granting an extra $50,000 USD.

In the group stages, the player remained unbeaten. This pattern continued in the tournament’s third round, where he had a record of 5 wins and 3 losses followed by 5 wins and 1 loss. Subsequently, he faced Atif “Atif Butt” Ijaz’s Dragunov and convincingly defeated him with a score of 5-0. Will Ulsan claim the Esports World Cup TEKKEN 8 title again? Only future events will reveal the answer.
