‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Preschool Animated Series in the Works

Paramount Skydance is heavily investing in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, with plans for a new animated series, books, and themed restaurants. According to Variety, a 30-episode animated short series called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will launch on YouTube in late 2026. These four-minute episodes will tell the story of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo as children, and are designed for preschool-aged viewers.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is growing! In 2026, TMNTthemed pizzerias are planned for Santa Monica, Monterrey (Mexico), and Sao Paulo (Brazil). Plus, starting in 2027, Mattel will take over as the toy manufacturer for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ending Playmates Toys’ 35-year partnership with the brand. Mattel will create toys for both the 2027 animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem*, and the live-action movie scheduled for 2028.

According to a statement from Josh Silverman, who leads global products and experiences at Paramount,

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is packed with action, funny moments, and heartfelt stories, and the strong bonds between the characters have connected with fans for decades. Through movies, toys, costumes, books, and more, the franchise lets people of all ages become part of the Turtles’ world. It’s had a lasting impact on both individuals and pop culture, something very few brands achieve. We’re excited to keep building on this legacy with new ways for fans around the world to enjoy these beloved characters and stories.

This is a developing story.
