Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles New Movie Helmed By Sonic Producer

A new producer is joining the team for the upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Okay, so I just read in The Hollywood Reporter that Neal H. Moritz – you know, the guy behind The Fast and the Furious – is potentially going to be producing a reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Paramount! Apparently, talks are happening now. Plus, his partner Toby Ascher from Original Films will likely be producing with him. It sounds like they’re really gearing up to give the Turtles a fresh start.

I’ve been so excited to see what Paramount is doing with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! They’ve been making some big moves to revitalize the franchise. It was a shock to hear a few months ago that they cancelled the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles spin-off, the one connected to Mutant Mayhem. Apparently, they made the decision about halfway through making it and just moved on – a pretty bold choice, honestly!

Christopher Yost, who leads the creative team for Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, announced on Threads that the show has been canceled. He shared that the remaining episodes will be the last, but he’s proud that they’re also the strongest ones they’ve made.

Sources say that production on The Last Ronin has been halted. The film, based on the popular comic book series, was intended to be a gritty, R-rated adaptation. Director Ilya Naishuller was reportedly in talks to lead the project, but new studio management decided against making a dark, mature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie – the first live-action film in ten years. However, one source suggests the project could be revisited later on.

Even with many projects being cancelled or postponed, one film is currently still on track. As of today, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Jeff Rowe, is expected to come out on September 17, 2027.
