After a long period, Tyler Baltierra, formerly of Teen Mom, found out that the true cause of his fluctuating moods was actually autism, following an initial misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder.
On his podcast, Cate & Ty: Break It Down, the 33-year-old personal trainer expressed it as if he had let out a massive sigh of relief.
Afterward, I found myself feeling quite melancholic, exclaiming internally, “Wow!” My mind drifted back to my childhood experiences. In that moment, I felt a profound sadness for the child within me who once questioned, “What’s wrong with me? Why don’t I fit in?
Tyler went on to say: ‘Had I been aware of my autism or being on the autism spectrum earlier in my therapy, do you think it would have made a difference? This thought struck me, “Oh, there are countless ways things could have gone differently.”‘

Baltierra, often recognized for his exceptional ability to hide his struggles, reminisced about being expelled from several schools and childcare centers during his childhood due to his ADHD tendencies. His mother frequently faced challenges managing his intense outbursts.
Following the Michigan native completing an autism assessment, the doctor explained that his erratic behavior was often linked to disruptions in his unusual daily rituals. Despite how much he communicates about it, others, including his wife Catelynn, may not grasp this fully.
Tyler found himself motivated to attempt the test when he noticed comparable actions in his six-year-old child, Vaeda Luma. He, alongside the 33-year-old reality celebrity, are proud parents to their 10-year-old daughter Novalee Reign as well.
Initially, what caught my attention was how significant Vaeda finds minor matters that typically wouldn’t cause much concern. This observation was made by Baltierra.
On Thursday next week, the pair who’ve been married for ten years will celebrate the fourth birthday of their youngest child, Rya Rose. Exactly a week ago, they held an early birthday party with a Little Mermaid theme for her.
16-year-old Carolyn Elizabeth, the eldest child of Tyler and Catelynn, was adopted by Brandon and Theresa Davis in 2009. For the past two years, she hasn’t had contact with them.
In my own words, I find myself adopting an approach where I’ll strive to coexist with this condition, recognizing it as a part of my unique brain functioning. Yet, being equipped with this newfound knowledge empowers me, making me more vigilant and informed.

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I, a die-hard fan and tattoo enthusiast, am going to be rubbing shoulders with none other than the one and only Catelynn Baltierra (or should I say Lowell?) at the Adoption Changemakers Conference! This epic event is happening in the heart of Manhattan on November 8. I can hardly contain my excitement!
Initially, the public became familiar with the high school sweethearts in 2009. This was when they made their debut on MTV shows like 16 and Pregnant, followed by spin-offs such as Teen Mom from 2009 to 2012, Teen Mom 2 starting in 2011, Teen Mom OG from 2009 to 2017, Teen Mom: Girls’ Night In in 2022, and Teen Mom: The Next Chapter in the same year.
At some point in their lives, Tyler and Catelynn became step-siblings because their fathers, Butch Baltierra and April Brockmiller, were previously married.
