Teddi Mellencamp’s father John is begging the ‘really sick’ star to leave Hollywood amid cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp’s father, singer John Mellencamp, wants her to return to Indiana to continue healing after being diagnosed with stage four brain cancer.

During an appearance on Friday’s Today show, the 74-year-old singer shared that he’s been encouraging someone to return to their hometown. He explained, ‘I’ve asked her to move back to Indiana with the kids, but she’s not interested.’

Teddi and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Edwin Arroyave, share three children: Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, who will be six in February.

On Friday, John said he’s traveling to Los Angeles to visit her, adding that the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is ‘really sick’.

In February 2025, the mother of three had emergency brain surgery to remove tumors that had grown after her melanoma cancer spread from 2022.

She later began radiation and immunotherapy to fight the cancer, which advanced to stage four.

Last October, Teddi shared the good news that her cancer was no longer detectable after months of treatment.

Despite some positive news, her father told hosts Craig Melvin, Dyler Dreyer, and Al Roker on the Today show that her condition is still very fragile.

He explained, ‘You can’t say you’re cancer-free with the type of cancer she’s got for three years.

She has growths in her brain that started as a small spot on her back. Over the past two years, these growths have spread to her brain and lungs.

Teddi publicly thanked her father on Instagram in October for his support during her recent health issues.

She shared that it’s been ten months since her brain surgery and expressed immense gratitude for John Mellencamp’s unwavering support of her and her family throughout the entire process.

‘Love you so much, Cougs. Thank you for everything ❤️,’ she added.

The former Bravo star shared a life update with listeners on her Two T’s in a Pod podcast this Thursday.

Dolores Catania is now co-hosting with Tamra Judge, allowing Teddi to rest and get better.

‘I’ve been doing a lot of therapy, a lot of rest, a lot of hanging with the family,’ she shared.

She explained that she’s been working hard to heal from significant trauma related to recent events, and is finally starting to feel some relief. She hadn’t fully understood the extent of the emotional impact, but things are beginning to look brighter.

Teddi lived with the symptoms caused by her tumors for six months before she went to the doctor.

Teddi shared on her podcast in March 2025 that she had been experiencing migraines, but she put up with the pain while handling other things going on in her life.

The reality TV personality has been openly documenting her treatment and recovery journey with her followers online.
