Teddi Mellencamp shows fans what she looks like with no wig on as she gives grim update on cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp unveiled her latest look on Wednesday amid her brutal battle with cancer.

however, she unveiled her fashionable transformation not long after she disclosed on her podcast that the treatment she’s been using to combat her cancer has been leaving her feeling more ill.

44-year-old ex-star of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, who experienced a startling burglary incident this week, had previously concealed hair loss due to medical treatments by wearing numerous wigs. She also sported a bold, closely shorn buzz cut that exposed scars and bald spots from chemotherapy and brain surgery.

Teddi unveiled a freshened-up, more voluminous take on her buzz cut, now sporting a stylish platinum blonde color.

She sounded hesitant at the reveal, writing, ‘Let’s see how long this lasts.’ 

On the latest episode of her podcast Two Ts In A Pod, the television personality publicly acknowledged that her ongoing immunotherapy sessions are causing her to feel more unwell compared to before she began treatment, and she also praised her hairstylist for their work.

To put it in my own words as a lifestyle expert, I discovered that initially, I felt fantastic and had the energy to tackle every challenge thrown my way – from podcasts to attending my daughter’s equestrian events. What’s more, I even relished spending time alone at home, feeling robust and powerful throughout.

‘And what’s happening with me is the longer that I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker it’s making me.’ 

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve recently undergone a tough period where my doctors and I have agreed to momentarily pause my immunotherapy treatments. These therapies have been exerting an incredibly intense toll on my body.

As an over-the-moon fan, I’m pausing the immunotherapy treatment for a bit so my body can regain its strength and vitality again.

In my current health journey, I’m utilizing steroids as part of my regimen to manage the side effects associated with my immunotherapy treatment. It’s all about finding the right balance for optimal wellness.

Teddi stated, “We’re making every effort to help me regain my confidence so I can handle everything again.

Lately, she mentioned experiencing fluctuating energy throughout her days. Some days, she manages to complete all her regular tasks effortlessly, but on others, she finds it challenging to meet her obligations without feeling excessively tired.

Additionally, Teddi mentioned experiencing challenges with her memory, occasionally finding it tough to remember past Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) gossips during her podcast recordings.

It was unclear whether the memory issues she experienced resulted from her recent treatment sessions or if they might have originated from her brain tumors instead.

In 2022, it was disclosed that John Mellencamp’s daughter had been diagnosed with multiple instances of melanoma. Over the past few years, surgical procedures to excise these growths have resulted in a pattern of scars covering her back and shoulders.

In February, it was disclosed that her skin cancer had progressed, spreading to her brain, which led to painful, worsening headaches over several weeks before they were detected.

Back in April, she informed her followers that her melanoma had progressed to stage IV, having spread to her lungs and brain following its metastasis.

Individuals diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer (stage IV) often face an increased risk of succumbing to the illness, yet there remains hope for improvement or effective management of the condition, potentially extending their lifespan significantly.

Later on, Teddi responded to comments on her Instagram posts that implied she might not have much time left, by addressing them directly.

In a solemn health announcement, she made it clear that she prefers not to flood her fans with updates about her cancer experiences.

She acknowledged that the subject might seem disheartening, but she also wanted others to understand that if they’re facing similar challenges, changes will occur and that’s perfectly normal, according to Teddi.

She mentioned that the most challenging aspect for her has been realizing, in a sense, “Wow, I’m not able to perform tasks like I did the day before, or even tasks from just three weeks ago.

Teddi further emphasized that not only has her cancer disrupted her own life, but it has also had a profound impact on her kids.

She expressed that it has significantly impacted her children’s lives, and also improved her connection with her estranged spouse, Edwin [Arroyave].

She clarified that while the divorce proceedings are temporarily paused due to her medical situation, there’s been no change in the fact that we were filing for divorce. However, on certain days when she’s unable to manage, he’s had to assist her.

Teddi and Edwin have three kids: twelve-year-old daughter Slate, four-year-old daughter Dove, and ten-year-old son Cruz.

The former Real Housewife is all the stepmother of Edwin’s oldest daughter, 16-year-old Isabella.

During a recent conversation with her ex-RHOBH colleague Kyle Richards, Teddi shared that her physicians decided against performing further comprehensive scans following the initial diagnosis of her stage I melanoma. This decision could potentially mean that the progression of her cancer may have been undetected.

Encouraging those who have been diagnosed with cancer, she suggested they should speak up for themselves and play a more proactive role in their healthcare, participating more in the decision-making process regarding their treatments.
