Ted Lasso’s back in Richmond! Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham return to London to shoot season four scenes weeks after kicking off filming in America

Ted Lasso has returned to Richmond, as evidenced by the cast filming episodes for season four on Monday.

After several weeks of filming in the United States for the return of the Apple TV show, Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and their fellow actors have commenced shooting in West London.

In the filming process, actors Jason and Hannah, together with Brendan Hunt and Brett Goldstein, captured scenes in recognizable settings such as The Prince’s Head pub and the celebrity-frequented hotspot, Scott’s, located in Richmond.

In the role of a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but notice the radiant Hannah, who graced a stunning blue gown with an aura of elegance while filming at the seafood restaurant. During the breaks between shots, she would encase herself in a cozy robe to dry off.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Jason was shooting footage at a school in Kingston while sporting Ted’s iconic mustache.

In the summer of 2026, season four will premiere, signifying a shift in direction for the fictional football manager, who takes on a new role coaching a second-division women’s soccer team.

Last month, Channing Dungey, head of Warner Bros TV (the company overseeing production), shared some insights about the progress of the show.

It’s amazing that we’re resuming production again! I have to admit, there were moments when I wasn’t sure if we would make it, but look at us now. I’m genuinely thrilled about our fresh lineup of actors.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I am thrilled to share that an exciting ensemble is coming together for our upcoming project. Not only are we welcoming back the beloved characters played by Hannah, Brett, Brendan, Jeremy Swift, and Juno Temple, but we’ve also invited Tanya Reynolds from Sex Education and Faye Marsay from Adolescence to join us. Buckle up for a fantastic ride with this exceptional group of actors!

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Jude Mack, Abbie Hern, Grant Feely, Rex Hayes, and Aisling Sharkey will all be present.

The production for the eagerly awaited new sequel began last month right here in Jason Sudeikis’s hometown, Kansas City.

For the very first time, following three successful Emmy-awarded seasons filmed overseas, the production of Ted Lasso moved to the United States.

After the cast was spotted, there were hints that the fourth season of Ted Lasso may have a promising future, as stated by Apple TV’s Head of Development, Matt Cherniss, in an interview with Deadline.

Excitedly looking forward to season 4 of Ted Lasso, we’re making our way there. Frankly, I can’t think of anything new to say about Ted Lasso as it’s already garnered much praise, but its return has us thrilled all the same, a sentiment expressed in July.

In his own words, Cherniss added: “I’m hesitant to discuss the path of the series, but rest assured, if you’re a fan of Ted Lasso, you’re in for a treat with the upcoming season.

Approximately four months ago, Jason announced that Ted Lasso would indeed have a fourth season during his interview on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast.

‘Ted’s coaching a women’s team, so there, that’s it,’ the actor teased.

In simpler terms, the character Jason portrayed a former American football coach named Lasso who led the fictitious AFC Richmond soccer team during the initial three seasons of the show.

Regarding Sudeikis’ announcement about season 4, Travis wondered if it implied that Lasso would be going back to the United States where he originally hails from.

Alrighty, let me slow things down a bit,” I cheerfully shared, implying I was fielding numerous queries, and admittedly, my knowledge wasn’t quite up to speed on all of them just yet.

Jason added that coming up with a new season was both ‘exciting’ and ‘daunting.’

He mentioned that we shared the story we intended, yet there are additional aspects to it, and it has been enjoyable collaborating with such an engaging team.

After the actors’ and writers’ strike ended in 2023, the ex-SNL star, who is now 49 years old, mentioned that it felt like the universe was sending him clear messages following the return of Hollywood.

…”Whether it was considerate individuals at airports, online, friends of family members, or others within the same field, when they shared their insights, I listened attentively.

In August, it was Bill Lawrence, a key creator of the series, who hinted at the potential return of a fourth season, indicating that the final say rests with Sudeikis.

Speaking to Collider, he mentioned that if given another chance as spectators, everyone would be more than willing. The consensus would be clear: whatever choice Jason makes, we wholeheartedly support him.

The program is making a comeback following its impressive debut, which netted 20 Primetime Emmy Awards, among them seven honors, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Sudeikis.

The show won 20 Emmys during its first season and took home 7 awards, including Best Comedy Series and Best Leading Actor in a Comedy for Sudeikis. As a result, it’s now coming back on air.

Since premiering in 2020, the series has received 61 Primetime Emmy Awards nods.

The production has been honored with a Producers Guild Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Writers Guild Awards, and it’s also received nominations for five Directors Guild Awards.
