Ted Lasso season 4 gets promising update
As a gamer with a soft spot for heartwarming comedies and engaging narratives, I can confidently say that the renewal of Ted Lasso for season four is like hitting the level-up button on my entertainment system!
Ted Lasso has received a promising season four update.
In simple terms, the Apple TV+ show centers around a character played by Jason Sudeikis – he’s an American football coach who takes on the task of leading AFC Richmond, a soccer team facing difficulties in the English Premier League.
Following a triumphant run spanning three seasons, the series concluded in May 2023, leaving numerous viewers eagerly awaiting updates about its comeback.
Now, Ted Lasso looks set to receive the greenlight for a fourth season, according to Deadline.
Warner Bros Television has chosen to exercise their options for three of the original actors from the show – Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift.
In their roles, Waddingham became renowned for portraying AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton, while Goldstein took on the character of the club’s captain and eventual assistant coach, Roy Kent. Swift shone brightly in the part of the shy director of football operations, Leslie Higgins.
The studio intends to strike fresh agreements with actors whose SAG-AFTRA contracts have lapsed, among them the leading actor, Sudeikis.
Digital Spy has reached out to representatives for Sudeikis for comment.
The news arises following hints from various celebrities and producers suggesting a potential comeback of the show, with Bill Lawrence being the most recent figure stirring up speculation.
In a recent chat with Collider, the producer expressed enthusiasm, stating that he would likely become quite excited if another season were greenlit. However, he clarified that this would only happen if Sudeikis was willing to reprise his role.
On occasion, a collective consensus may form without explicit discussions among individuals, as was the case with everyone involved in that show – actors, actresses, writers, producers – who all enjoyed the shared experience immensely, though it wasn’t a deliberate decision to convey this particular message.
Among fans, there’s a general consensus that we’d be thrilled for a repeat if given the chance. However, we’d all agree unanimously: whatever Jason feels like directing or deciding, we’re fully supportive. Not only is he the leading figure, but he also holds the position of chief writer.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess that the thought of him undergoing another drastic life change, such as relocating to a foreign land with children, is a significant event. It’s a move that could potentially turn his world upside down. So, if anyone casually mentions, ‘It’s going to happen again,’ I find myself on the edge of my seat, filled with anticipation and worry. As his companion, I stand ready to support him in whatever decisions he deems fit for this new journey.
Ted Lasso is streaming in its entirety on Apple TV+.
