Ted Lasso recasting key character in surprise season 4 return
Ted Lasso looks set to recast a key character as it returns for a fourth season.
Just last week, it was officially announced that the popular Apple TV+ series, which had appeared to conclude with its third season two years ago, will return for another installment.
In a future appearance, Jason Sudeikis reprises his role as Coach Ted, while Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are anticipated to continue playing Rebecca Welton, Roy Kent, and Leslie Higgins respectively. Juno Temple may potentially return as Keeley Jones.

On the other hand, it appears that the series is considering replacing the character of Henry, Ted’s son, who was originally played by Gus Turner during the first three seasons, according to Deadline.
In the fourth season, it appears the character is now an accomplished football player due to the casting change, as a child actor skilled in football was required. Interestingly, Turner has also been given the opportunity to audition for the role.
In the upcoming game, I find myself back in my old stomping grounds – Kansas. Season 3 had me venturing off to Richmond, but now it seems like fate has brought me full circle and sent me packing back home.
Last week, when discussing the topic of returning, Sudeikis mentioned: “Given that we are all navigating a world full of influences that encourage us to ‘think twice before acting’,” or alternatively, “In this era where numerous factors have shaped us to ‘consider carefully before making a move’.
In the fourth season, the team at AFC Richmond starts taking bold steps without fully planning ahead. They find out that whatever destination they reach, it’s always the right place for them.
Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s head of programming, commented: “Ted Lasso has been nothing less than an unstoppable force, sparking a global fanbase with its boundless enthusiasm, humor, and compassion. It consistently brings joy, laughter, and most importantly, promotes kindness, empathy, and unwavering faith.
Apple’s team is excited to carry on working alongside Jason and his exceptionally talented group for this project.
Ted Lasso is streaming in its entirety on Apple TV+.
