Teams with the biggest changes at BLAST Premier Fall Groups
As a dedicated CS:2 fan with years of experience following the scene, I can’t help but be thrilled about the major roster changes that several teams have undergone during the off-season and are set to showcase at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. With six spots for the Fall Finals up for grabs, this tournament presents an exciting opportunity for new lineups to prove their worth.
Some teams overhauled their rosters during the off-season.
At the BLAST Premier Fall Groups from July 29 to August 4, several CS:2 teams will attend with fresh members.
The BLAST Premier Fall Groups tournament in 2024 is among the premier CS:GO competitions during the second half of the year, with a total of six spots to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals at stake. This event offers an exceptional chance for players who have recently changed teams to shine and secure their places in this prestigious competition.
As a dedicated gamer following the CS:GO scene, I’ve been keeping up with the latest developments in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. If you’ve taken a break from the news for the past month, here are some teams that have undergone significant changes worth checking out.
G2 Esports
G2 underwent significant changes in the second half of 2024 as they replaced their Serbian rifler, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković, and their Danish in-game leader, Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, following unsatisfactory performance during the first semester.
Starting from now until the end of the year, G2’s lineup will feature Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa instead of nexa, and Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski taking over for HooXi.
At the recent Esports World Cup, G2 put up an impressive performance, reaching the final round where they came in second place. In their journey to the finals, they managed to beat The MongolZ, Team Spirit, and Virtus.pro. Unfortunately, they were bested by Natus Vincere during the ultimate showdown.
Team Liquid

Similar to G2, Liquid underwent a significant shift after disappointing performances in the initial phase of the year. They made the decision to transfer Felipe “skullz” Medeiros to FURIA and sidelined their AWPer/IGL Casper “cadiaN” Møller.
The departures created room for the joining of Australian anchor Justin “jks” Savage and Polish AWPer Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak with Liquid. In addition, they brought on Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg to take over as head coach from Wilton “zews” Prado.
Although none of the newcomers will take over as Liquid’s in-game leader, it appears that star player Russel “Twistzz” van Dunkel is set to assume the role of captain instead. Let’s find out how they perform during their first appearance at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.
Cloud9
Completing the roster of teams undergoing significant transformations at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups is Cloud9. This time, the Russians bring three fresh faces: riflers Nikita “Heavygod” Martynenko and Timofey “interz” Yakushin, as well as AWPer Kaisar “ICY” Faiznovo.
As a long-time fan of Cloud9 and esports enthusiast, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the team’s recent roster changes. Having watched their impressive performances in the past, it came as a surprise when they announced selling electroNic to Virtus.pro back in April. The impact of this move was further felt when HObbit and Perfecto were benched just a week later.
