Team Spirit advance to Group A finals over HEROIC at BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Team Spirit advanced to the final stage of BLAST Premier Fall Groups by defeating HEROIC with a score of 2-0 on July 30.

1. Heroic faced a tough challenge against Spirit since they were without their usual AWPer, Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov, who was absent due to travel complications. In his place, they had their head coach Eetu “sAw” Saha stepping up as the in-game leader.

1. In the opening map, HEROIC displayed remarkable resilience but fell just short of victory. Unfortunately, they couldn’t prevent Spirit from claiming the second map in this matchup.

BLAST Premier Fall Groups: Spirit 2-0 Heroic

If you watched the match outcome, you might not think HEROIC had a good chance to win on Vertigo. The international team took the lead with a strong first half, winning 9 rounds to Spirit’s 3, mainly due to their impressive T-side play. However, Spirit came back stronger in the second half and seized victory by winning an additional 10 rounds during the offense.

On Vertigo, only Danil “donk” Kryshiovets ended the match with a positive score (21-16) for Spirit. This underscores the difficulty they faced during the game.

As the series progressed to focus on Anubis, however, Heroic struggled significantly against Spirit, finding themselves overpowered on all fronts of the map.

In this round of play, every Spirit team member except Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov managed to end with a better kills-deaths ratio, and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotja, from Ukraine, achieved the highest ADR (98.4) and ranking (1.63).

When do HEROIC and Spirit play again at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups?

1. On August 3rd at 3 a.m. Pacific Time, Spirit will come back to the server for the Group A finals. Meanwhile, HEROIC will face off against the victor of OG versus Complexity on August 2nd also at 3 a.m. PT in the consolidation final.
