Day 2 at The International 2025 promises to be challenging since either BOOM Esports or Team Nemesis will face elimination.
Or, more concisely: On the second day of The International 2025, one between BOOM Esports and Team Nemesis will be ousted.
As a passionate fan from Southeast Asia, witnessing The International 2025 has been an emotionally charged journey for me, especially with Team Nemesis and BOOM Esports at the forefront. Being the lone representatives of our region, they embodied the aspirations of millions. Sadly, Wilson “poloson” Koh and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon’s absence left a heavy weight on their shoulders. Under the global spotlight of Dota 2, they became our beacon of hope.
An unfortunate end: BOOM Esports eliminate Team Nemesis from TI 2025
Regrettably, hopes and aspirations won’t carry a team to victory in Dota 2, especially at The International (TI), as both Team Nemesis and BOOM Esports discovered their chances slipping through their fingers swiftly. Despite outstanding performances in certain areas, they found themselves battling for survival. It was evident that one of the Southeast Asian (SEA) teams would see their TI 2025 dreams shatter on Day 2, while the other would simply extend their stay – for a single day at least.
Initially, Nemesis struggled to make an impact in the match, as Akashi’s Ursa was relentlessly focused. Early on, Jabz on BOOM’s Axe proved too strong, resulting in a decisive advantage for his team. In just half an hour, the game ended with GG called out, forcing Nemesis to rethink their strategy.

In Game 2, Nemesis’ situation didn’t improve. Despite having a roster of four heroes designed for initiating fights, they still faced difficulties. Throughout the match, BOOM maintained the lead and effortlessly dominated the early game. Similar to Game 1, it ended swiftly within thirty minutes, with Nemesis conceding defeat after being unable to compete.
As Nemesis became the initial team to depart from TI 2025, they demonstrated a certain tenacity throughout their journey. Despite their efforts falling short of securing a spot in the main event, Nemesis shone particularly brightly against Team Falcon during Round 1. On the other hand, BOOM finds themselves in somewhat challenging circumstances, as they prepare for Round 5. If they hope to advance to the Playoffs, they must give their all in the upcoming match.
China dominates

In the standings, Chinese Dota 2 teams are surging ahead, with Xtreme Gaming and Team Tidebound holding unbeaten records (3-0). As we head into the last day of the Group Stage, these two teams must compete against each other to determine their positions.
