Team Liquid signs NertZ to replace YEKINDAR
NertZ is one of the best riflers in the world and should improve Team Liquid.
Team Liquid completed the acquisition of Guy “NertZ” Iluz this Monday, January 6.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled about the addition of the Israeli prodigy to Team Liquid in 2024. In his previous stint with HEROIC, he was amongst the world’s finest CS2 players, delivering an impressive arsenal of raw skill and power.
In Team Liquid, NertZ steps in to cover the position previously held by Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis who was temporarily benched. The Latvian had been a challenge for Team Liquid throughout much of 2024, consistently underperforming as their primary aggressive rifler.
Team Liquid’s in-game leader, Russell “Twistzz” Van Dunkel, expressed great joy over NertZ joining the team, stating, “I’ve been eager to have him on board for some time now. It’s like finding a perfect gift just in time for Christmas!
Following the departure of NertZ and the teammates Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski, René “TeSeS” Madsen, and Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov, HEROIC is aiming to recruit Sangal’s players in order to maintain some standing in Valve’s Ranking System.
At the upcoming BLAST Bounty Season 1 tournament, set to commence on January 18th, we’ll see NertZ making their first appearance. This competition showcases some of the top CS2 squads from around the globe.
How will Team Liquid look with NertZ?
Adding NertZ significantly increases our firepower, but it also raises some concerns.
He doesn’t perfectly fill YEKINDAR’s role because the Latvian is much more aggressive in gameplay. Despite NertZ not being a typically passive player, his skills truly shine during the middle of rounds and in crucial situations.
In essence, if Liquid doesn’t switch NertZ to YEKINDAR’s roles on the T-side, they might need to explore another strategy. One possible alternative could be moving Justin “jks” Savage to play alongside Twistzz, with NertZ stepping in later to even out any losses in kills.
