Team Liquid bench SaberLight in the post-TI shuffle

The flurry of roster changes following The International continues, and Team Liquid is the latest to make a move. They’ve benched Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek.

Team Liquid didn’t perform as hoped at The International 2025, and as a result, they’ve decided to bench Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek. The usual player changes following The International are already happening, with many shifts in the Dota 2 scene – new teams forming, and players moving between existing ones.

SaberLight benched in the post-TI shuffle

Team Liquid won The International 2024, but they weren’t able to repeat their success in 2025. The new tournament format meant they didn’t advance to the main event, and after being eliminated early, the team decided to make roster changes, starting with their offlane player.

A recent post on X indicated that SaberLight is being benched. Currently, Liquid hasn’t announced who will take his place in the lineup. With several tournaments scheduled for the rest of 2025, we expect to learn their complete roster soon.

The remaining Team Liquid roster is:

  • Michael “miCKe” Vu
  • Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  • Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
  • Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi

After winning The International 2025, SaberLight is leaving the team and won’t be participating in their future plans. The Czech player previously achieved success with wins at BPGL Wallachia Seasons 3 and 4, and FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 while playing with Liquid, and is now seeking new opportunities.

Also, SaberLight has announced he’s joining a new team. Just before the DreamLeague Season 27 qualifiers begin, he’s been loaned to AVULUS.

Currently, SaberLight is still with Liquid, but it’s not expected he’ll return to the team in the future. That could change, though, if AVULUS begins to see success.
