Will you keep your eye on Team Falcons and Twisted Minds in the MPL-PH?

Two Saudi Arabian competitive gaming groups, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds, will be participating in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League held in the Philippines (Philippines’ MPL).

In regional leagues, Team Falcons is a well-known name. Earlier, they were associated with local titan and two-time world champion AP.Bren, but that partnership ended just before it was announced that they would join MPL-PH. It has been reported that after Blacklist International disbanded, Team Flacons bought their slot in the league.

Simply put, Twisted Minds is a brand-new name making waves in the local scene. This innovative group also fields teams in various leagues like the Overwatch Champion Series and VCT Game Changers. It’s said they recently acquired the slot that was previously held by RSG Philippines.

Meet the MPL-PH newcomers: Team Falcons and Twisted Minds

Matthew Chan, MOONTON Games PH Esports Head of Operations, expresses excitement about the addition of Saudi Arabian esports teams Twisted Minds and Team Falcons to our league as part of our franchise system. This collaboration aligns with our goal to grow globally by forming international partnerships and creating a long-term ecosystem that supports our teams. Furthermore, he believes this move could make the Philippines an appealing destination for esports businesses and foster opportunities for collaborations beyond Southeast Asia.

Speaking as first-timers in this region, Ibrahim Bin Jibreen, CEO and Founder of Twisted Minds, expressed his ambition: “We aim to broaden our horizons globally, with a focus on Asia, particularly in the Philippines. Our goal is to contend at the highest echelons of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports, and we believe the Philippines is the ideal location for this pursuit.

Simultaneously, Grant Rousseau, Director of Esports at Team Falcons, commented, “From a competitive perspective, the Philippines stands out as the strongest region for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players. Following a trial year with AP Bren, our organization has gained insight into the market’s competitiveness and is now eager to acquire our own franchise and team, aiming to compete and ultimately emerge victorious.

The spotlight is firmly on these teams due to them replacing two well-known local organizations. In the MPL Philippines Season 15, slated for March 2025, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds will be center stage.
