Taylor Swift isn’t fazed by the legal drama involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Taylor Swift, 36, is moving on and focusing on positive things, like her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce, according to Page Six.
According to a source, Taylor Swift is prioritizing her partner, family, and friends and doesn’t feel connected to the lawsuit Blake Lively filed against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director on the film It Ends with Us. The suit alleges sexual harassment and retaliation, but Swift reportedly feels it’s a matter that doesn’t concern her.
Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Swift.
This news follows the release of private text messages between the singer and the actress, which has caused tension in their previously close friendship.
Last year, private text messages showed Blake Lively, 38, calling Taylor Swift one of her ‘dragons’ in a conversation with Justin Baldoni. Lively, who recently described her husband Ryan Reynolds as her ‘best friend,’ seemed to be referencing Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, implying these ‘dragons’ were people who helped her take charge of her work creatively.
Baldoni refuted Lively’s claims and initially filed a lawsuit of his own, alleging defamation and attempted control over his movie. However, he later withdrew this countersuit.
According to Page Six, Lively texted Swift, who was driving to Lively’s house where Baldoni was already waiting, asking her to talk to the director—whom Lively playfully called a ‘doofus’—and get him to approve her suggested changes to the script for the movie based on Colleen Hoover’s popular novel, It Ends with Us.
Swift enthusiastically agreed and helped Lively refine the script during the meeting.
Following the meeting, Lively sent Swift an overly flattering message, praising her actions. The message included references to Swift falsely claiming Lively fabricated stories about her and using a demeaning nickname (‘doll’). Lively sarcastically acknowledged being manipulated, concluding by calling Swift the ‘world’s greatest friend.’
Swift excitedly replied with similar enthusiastic praise, writing, ‘I feel like I won the lottery! You’re the best, and I’m so glad you like me!’
The trailer for the movie featured Swift’s song My Tears Ricochet from her Folklore album.
Four months before the movie’s August 2024 release, Lively sent Swift a link to the trailer.
Taylor Swift explained that if Justin Bieber were thinking strategically, he wouldn’t appear in her trailer. She believes that creates more control over the film and positions her as his supporter, rather than the other way around.
Okay, so things really blew up between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni by the end of 2024. It started with just whispers and rumors in Hollywood, you know, people talking… but then it turned into a full-blown legal fight! I’ve been following everything, and honestly, it was shocking to see it go that far. I mean, I always knew they had… something going on, but legal action? Wow.
The mother of four quickly sent Taylor Swift a text message to see where things stood between them and if their friendship was still good.
I realized I hadn’t been a very good friend recently, as I spent months only talking about my own problems. You were incredibly kind to support me through everything and understanding about my self-absorption.
Swift, in response, agreed with that sentiment but added that it was ‘not a big deal.’
The singer acknowledged that Lively had started acting a little differently towards her in the past few months.
I’ve definitely seen this pattern before – when someone you care about is getting a lot of unwanted attention, it can really take over everything. Honestly, the way Blake Lively responded felt… impersonal, almost like a standard email blast sent to a huge group. It lacked that genuine, personal touch I’d expect.
Taylor Swift also criticized an interview Oliver Baldoni gave on the “How To Fail” podcast on December 4, 2024, where he discussed a difficult relationship from his college years.
The singer sent Lively a text saying they believed someone suspected something was about to happen, joking that the person was ‘getting out their tiny violin’ – a sarcastic way of saying they were feeling sorry for themselves.
Following Baldoni’s receipt of the Voice of Solidarity Award for supporting women and girls, Taylor Swift expressed her outrage online, writing that she found his actions ‘disgusting’ and that he should be held accountable for his own statements.
After Lively first reported the issue on December 20th, Swift publicly backed her, saying, ‘You succeeded! You did it!… And you really helped a lot of people who won’t have to experience this again.’
I’m still reeling from how quickly this cancellation was overturned! Honestly, it’s almost unheard of. Seeing the evidence and witnessing the right actions taken to reveal the truth was incredible – it just doesn’t happen like this often, and I’m so glad it did.
According to Page Six, Lively and Baldoni are scheduled to appear in court in May, and messages between the actress and Taylor Swift will likely be presented by Baldoni’s lawyer as part of his defense.
Taylor Swift is focusing on her wedding plans as she prepares to marry the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who proposed to her with flowers back in August.
